受側に向くよう第一シール部材の芯金内径側に嵌合され
て第二シール部材を第一シール部材間に挾持する金属製
バックアップリングと、このバックアップリングの円筒
部の内周面に圧入固定される金属製環体とで構成し、上
記第一シール部材の端部を上記環体側に折曲して第一シ
ール部材、第二シール部材、バックアップリングおよび
環体とを一体化するとともに、上記環体を上記軸受の外

材8をバックアップする金属製バックアップリング9
と、このバックアップリング9の円筒部9aの内周面に

密封するウォータポンプの密封装置であって、金属芯金
の一端部に一体成形されかつリップがウォータポンプ軸
表面でウォータポンプ室側に向くゴム製の第一シール部
材と、この第一シール部材の芯金内径側に嵌合されかつ
リップがウォータポンプ軸表面でウォータポンプ室側に
向くポリテトラフルオロエチレン樹脂製の第二シール部
材と、外径端部に円筒部が形成されかつこの円筒部が軸
受側に向くよう第一シール部材の芯金内径側に嵌合され
て第二シール部材を第一シール部材間に挾持する金属製
バックアップリングと、このバックアップリングの円筒
部の内周面に圧入固定される金属製環体とで構成し、上
記第一シール部材の端部を上記環体側に折曲して第一シ
ール部材、第二シール部材、バックアップリングおよび
環体とを一体化するとともに、上記環体を上記軸受の外
輪端部内周面に装着固定したことを特徴とするウォータ
ポンプの密封装置。1.
