Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide veneer laminates and a manufacture thereof, capable of manufacturing easily and at a low cost veneer laminates having an electromagnetic wave cut-off capability substantially similar to that of conventional ones. SOLUTION: After applying an adhesive on one face of, or on both faces of, a veneer 1, wire meshes 2 are placed on the face of the veneer, on which the adhesive is applied, and are covered with another veneer 1 to be pressed by a pressing device. Simultaneously, the wire meshes 2 are embedded in the faces of the veneers under pressure applied by the pressing device, and the veneers 1 are allowed to abut against each other to be bonded with the adhesive. Thus, an electromagnetic wave cut-off performance can be simply imparted to veneer laminates only by interposing the wire meshes therebetween, and the veneer laminates can be manufactured only by interposing the wire meshes between the veneers without the need for any special adhesive. Further, since no bonding processes are increased, the veneer laminates can be obtained in good workability and at a low cost by a conventional method for manufacturing veneer laminates.

2. Description of the Related Art Single-ply laminates such as plywood and LVL are commonly used as building panels, but they do not have the ability to block electromagnetic waves. In recent years, OA equipment has become widespread in ordinary houses, and a wooden board for building has been required to have an ability to block electromagnetic waves.

However, when this carbon black powder is added in a large amount to the adhesive, there is a problem that the adhesive strength of the adhesive is reduced, and the amount of addition is limited. In addition, handling of carbon black powder was also poor in workability due to contamination of hands, devices and veneers during manufacturing.

Therefore, it has been proposed that a carbon sheet formed into a sheet by adding carbon black powder to a resin is interposed between veneers. However, the carbon sheet is expensive. A special adhesive is required to bond the adhesives, and furthermore, the number of bonding steps is increased and the manufacturing cost is increased.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The thickness of a veneer must be greater than that of a wire mesh.
If it is 0.5 mm, a single plate requires about 1.0 to 1.5 mm. The mesh of the wire mesh may be in the range of 3 to 10 mm.

The veneer laminate may be laminated in parallel with the fiber direction of the veneer to obtain a laminate called LVL, or may be laminated perpendicularly to form a plywood. The number of layers is arbitrary if LVL is used, but generally 3 ply or 5 ply for plywood.

As the adhesive, a urea resin, a melamine resin, a phenol resin or the like which has been conventionally used can be used. In the present invention, since the wire mesh can be buried in the veneer and the veneers can be bonded together, a special adhesive is not required and the number of bonding steps does not increase.

According to the present invention, it is possible to easily provide an electromagnetic wave shielding performance to a single-ply laminated material simply through a wire mesh. Further, the production is performed only through a wire mesh, and no special adhesive is required. Further, the bonding process is not increased at all, so that a conventional method for producing a single veneer laminate can be obtained with good workability and at low cost.
