Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the cooking of scorched rice simply under the optimum condition by a method wherein the weight of rice is detected and the rice is heated by a cooking time optimum to the detected weight of rice to cook the scorched rice. SOLUTION: A weight detecting sensor 20 detects the weight of rice, filled into a cooking vessel, and the cooking time of scorched rice, corresponding to the weight of rice in the cooking vessel, is operated by a weight signal, corresponding to the detected weight of rice, then, a timer, accommodated in a microwave oven, is reset to count a cooking time. Next, a control unit 60 judges whether the time, counted by the timer, is abnormal or not compared with the operated scorched rice cooking time and when the scorched rice cooking time has elapsed, the generation of microwaves from magnetron 40 is stopped and a control signal for interrupting the cooking operation of scorched rice is outputted.
