TCヒータを用いた暖房装置では、前記PTCヒータ1
5を発熱させるために電源が必要なため、車室内の前記
ヒータユニット内14に内蔵されたPTCヒータ15
と、車室外に設けられた電源との間を配線で接続しなく
てはならない。このため、車室内外を仕切るパネルに、
該配線を通すための孔をあける必要があり、車室内の防
水性、あるいは防音性を保つ上で好ましくない。ヒート
ポンプ式暖房装置は、熱交換器17が内蔵されたヒータ
ユニット18、コンプレッサ19、四方切換弁20、図
示しない室外用熱交換器や減圧器等と、これらをつなぐ
配管21から構成されたシステムで、システム内を循環
する冷媒と空気との熱交換により暖房作用を得ている。
前記ヒートポンプ式暖房装置を用いた場合では、システ
ムの構成部品が複雑で、数が多いため、電気モータやコ
ントローラなど他に多数の搭載装置のあるボンネットフ
ード内に、暖房装置の性能を落とさずに設置するのはか
なり困難である。また、外気温が低いときには、暖房性
能が低下するという問題もある。
