ET) Hollow containers formed by biaxially stretch-blown resin are widely used as containers suitable for filling contents that require high-temperature heat sterilization, such as juices, soft drinks, and other beverages. ing. When such hollow containers are frequently used, the ratio of PET resin containers to general garbage that is discarded from daily life increases, causing social pollution and other problems. It has become necessary to collect these empty containers and reuse them as resources.

In addition, large containers made of PET resin have come to be frequently used from the viewpoint of excellent transparency and mechanical strength. However, in such a large PET resin container, internal residual stress is generated at the time of molding by a normal biaxial stretch blow molding method, and thermal deformation is likely to occur at the time of high-temperature heating filling or high-temperature heating sterilization. In order to prevent deformation of the container due to heat and residual stress, heat-setting is performed during the molding process, reinforcing ribs with band-like irregularities are formed around the side wall of the container, and absorption of internal pressure changes is mitigated. Deformable wall (panel wall)
Is provided to prevent deformation of other parts of the side wall.Empty containers are difficult to compress and deform and take up a large volume at the time of disposal, so it is difficult to collect efficiently. there were.

Panel walls are provided above and below the reinforcing ribs of the strip, and the depth of the groove is formed deeper from the corner to the center, so that the strength of the entire peripheral wall of the container is uniformly increased. (See Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open Publication No. 1-161428) or a rib (waist portion) formed in a circumferential groove shape at a substantially middle portion of a body portion of a cylindrical rectangular container having four corners of a rectangular shape. Is formed deeper than at the corners, and the ribs at the panel wall are formed more stepwise into the bottle body than the ribs at the corners, increasing the rigidity of the container wall and increasing the wall thickness. The concave groove of the reinforcing rib 7a formed in the middle waist portion is
Reinforcing ribs 7b are formed not only on the main side wall surface 2 but also on the corner wall surface 3 in the same manner as the main wall, and a recessed groove is formed which is continuous with the reinforcing rib 7a on the main side wall surface and is homogeneously integrated to withstand internal pressure. It was done. However, hollow containers with such a structure,
Although it has a certain pressure-resistant strength against external force acting on the main wall surface 2 of the container from the front, it is weak against external force acting at right angles to the corner surface 3 as shown by the arrow, and FIG. As shown by the dotted line, it is easily deformed into a rhombus shape, and particularly when it is subjected to a strong force on the groove-shaped rib surface 7b at the corner portion, it deforms by making a bellows sound, or in a state where containers are stacked vertically. During transportation of the container, there is a drawback that buckling deformation is likely to occur in the ribs provided around the body against vertical compressive load, so the thickness of the body wall of the container can be made too thin. Because of this, such empty containers could not be easily compressed.

As described in JP-A-46717, a folding line portion is provided on the side wall and the bottom of the body of the rectangular hollow container, and when the empty container is discarded, along the folding line, There is one that is folded in a flat shape so that the volume can be easily reduced. However, in the case of the structure that is folded flat as described above, air easily enters the container with the elastic return force of the folded container, so it is difficult to stably maintain the folded state, In order to make the body wall thinner, there is no reinforcing rib on the side wall, so there is a problem in strength.

る。[0007] As described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. Hei 7-101442, a discontinuous portion is formed in a screw portion and a neck ring formed in the mouth and neck portion of a container and a push portion is formed in a bottom portion. Forming a concave groove that is depressed inward by pressure, a concave part is formed on one wall surface of the opposing side wall on the body of the container, and a protruding part is formed on the other wall surface opposite to this, in the form of a reinforcing rib The applicant of the present invention has proposed a configuration in which the projection is fitted to the concave portion when folded into a flat shape, and the flat portion can be stably held and discarded. . However, the above-mentioned container can be formed into a thin body wall and can be easily crushed, but simply crushing the container in a flat shape, the surface area thereof remains large, so the volume is reduced, but the outer surface is reduced. However, there is a drawback in that it takes time and effort to store it in a collecting container.

As a result of various investigations, to reduce the thickness of the body wall of the container except for the disadvantages described above,
A flat surface obtained by chamfering a corner of a rectangular container as shown in FIG. 5 is formed by forming a pair of wall surfaces and a groove formed with a groove of a reinforcing rib provided in a lateral direction at a central portion (a waist portion) of a side wall of the container. By providing a combination of a pair of wall surfaces formed, the body wall of the container can be made thinner, and the side wall portion of the container is hardly deformed even when an external force is applied, but it has a concave shape at the time of disposal. It has been found that if the flat surface at the corner where the rib is formed is pressed, it can be easily crushed and reduced.

On a pair of diagonal wall surfaces of the square wall, concave grooves of reinforcing ribs are formed linearly in the lateral direction, and on the other pair of diagonal wall surfaces of the corner wall where the corner of the container is chamfered, the reinforcement is performed. Both ends of the concave groove of the rib are formed so as to be shallow and disappear on the flat surface at the corner, and a pair of flat surfaces with a pair of deformable ribs at the chamfered corner of the rectangular hollow container are formed. And a flat surface without ribs, which is difficult to deform, is provided, and a portion with ribs is crushed inward to form a structure capable of being folded in two.

When disposing of the container, the container is removed and the content liquid is discharged. As shown in FIG. 3, the corner of the empty container 1 where the concave groove-shaped rib 7 is formed is formed. By pressing one surface of the flat surface 3a of the part firmly with a fingertip as shown by an arrow, the flat surface 3a is depressed inward so as to have a substantially U-shaped cross section as shown by a dotted line, Since the pair of flat surfaces 3b on which the groove-shaped ribs are not formed are bent so as to protrude outward, they can be bent as if the body wall of the container was folded in two. Thereafter, the empty container of the present invention can be easily folded into a small size by grasping the bottom of the container and bending the container toward the waist wall as shown in FIG.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the reinforcing ribs 7 are formed on the pair of flat surfaces 3 a at the corners, while the other pair of flat surfaces 3 are formed.
b, the flat surface 3b at the corner is strong against the diagonal force acting on the flat surface 3b so as to be deformed into a rhombus, but the pressing force acting on the flat surface 3a Can be easily folded in an inwardly-curved shape.
It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to a square having a square or square shape as in the above-described embodiment, but may be a pentagon, a hexagon, or other polygons.

The reinforcing ribs are provided in the lateral direction, and a pair of flat surfaces on which the reinforcing ribs are formed and a pair of flat surfaces on which the reinforcing ribs are not formed are provided diagonally at the corners. Even when the thickness of the body is reduced, the strength of the container can be maintained by the pair of flat surfaces on which the reinforcing ribs are not formed, and the pair of flat surfaces on which the reinforcing ribs are formed can be easily folded inward. Since it is possible to reduce the volume of the container at the time of disposal, the container can be disposed of, so that the disposed container can be efficiently collected.
