Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a coated optical fiber from being twitched when an upper and a lower tray are drawn out. SOLUTION: The upper tray 17 contains the extra-length part of a multicore coated optical fiber 21 and a multicore connector 23. The lower tray 15 contains a core split part 25 and a single-core coated optical fiber 27, and holds a single- core connector 29. The lower tray 15 and upper tray 17 are made rotatable around a column 19 respectively. The lead-in part of the multi-core coated optical fiber 21 and an opening part 45 extending to the lower tray 15 are formed nearby the rotation center part of the upper tray 17. The multicore coated optical fiber 21 is led to the lower tray 15 through the opening part 45.

2. Description of the Related Art For example, in a place where a four-core optical fiber (tape) drawn from an optical cable is divided into four single-core optical fibers and wiring is performed, the four-core optical fiber side is used. There are cases where switching connection of the cores is required collectively, and cases where switching connection of the cores is required individually on the single-core optical fiber side. To address these requirements,
A set of four-fiber connectors for connecting four-fiber optical fibers and a single-fiber optical fiber are connected before and after a wire splitting part for splitting four-fiber optical fibers into single-fiber optical fibers. It is necessary to provide four sets of single core connectors.

Conventionally, when the extra length of the optical fiber core including the connector connection part of the multi-core optical fiber core and the connector connection part of the small-core optical fiber core is stored in the extra length storage case, In this case, trays stacked in two tiers like a heavy box were used. That is, the conventional extra-length storage case stores the extra length of the multi-core connector and the multi-core optical fiber core wire in the vicinity of the upper tray, and delivers the multi-core optical fiber core from the upper tray to the lower tray. The lower tray has a structure in which the core division portion, the small-fiber connector, and the extra length of the small-fiber optical fiber core near it are stored. In this way, the multi-core optical fiber and the low-core optical fiber are prevented from being complicated, and the switching connection of the multi-core optical fiber is performed by the upper tray.
Since the switching connection of the small number of optical fibers can be performed by the lower tray, there is an advantage that the switching connection operation can be easily performed.

However, in an actual apparatus, such two-stage trays are stacked in multiple stages.
When the switching connection is performed, the corresponding tray is pulled out to perform the operation. At this time, since the conventional one has a structure in which the two-layered tray is slid out like a drawer of a desk and pulled out, the vicinity of the tray introduction part of the optical fiber is easily pulled and entangled. In addition, when working with the lower tray, it is necessary to lift the upper tray, and in that case, the multi-core optical fiber cable extending from the upper tray to the lower tray is likely to be pulled. The pulling of the optical fiber core leads to an increase in loss and disconnection, so that it is necessary to minimize it.

When the extra-length storage case 11 is stored in the housing 13 in multiple stages and it becomes necessary to switch and connect the single-core optical fiber 27 of any of the extra-length storage cases 11, As shown in FIG. 4, only the extra-length storage case 11 is rotated about the support 19 and the single-core connector 29 is rotated.
To the front side of the housing 13 to perform switching connection. At this time, the rotation of the extra-length storage case 11 does not move the optical fiber core wires in the extra-length storage case 11. In addition, since the introduction portion 39 of the multi-core optical fiber 21 is near the column 19 (center of rotation), the multi-core optical fiber 21 near the introduction portion 39 moves when the extra-length storage case 11 rotates. The amount is small. Therefore, there is almost no possibility that the optical fiber core may be pulled.

When the extra length storage case 11 is stored in the housing 13 in multiple stages, any of the extra length storage cases 1
When it becomes necessary to switch and connect the multi-core optical fiber core 21, the extra-length storage case 1 as shown in FIG.
Only the upper tray 17 is rotated about the column 19 and pulled out to the near side of the housing to perform switching connection. At this time, since the opening 45 is near the column 19 (the center of rotation), the amount of movement of the multi-core optical fiber 21 passing through the opening 45 due to the rotation of the upper tray 17 is small.
Therefore, also in this case, there is almost no possibility that the optical fiber core is pulled.

The extra-length storage case 11 is formed, for example, by dividing the two four-core optical fiber core wires 21 into two cores and dividing them into four two-core optical fiber cores.
This is used when the optical fiber core 71 is pulled out. That is, the extra length storage case 11 accommodates the extra length of the 4-core optical fiber 21 and the 4-core connector 23 in the upper trays 17A and 17B, respectively, and stores the 4-core optical fiber 21 in the bottom plate of the upper trays 17A and 17B. 31 openings 4
5 to the lower tray 15 and the lower tray 15
In this case, a core division part from four cores to two cores, a surplus length of the two-core optical fiber 71, and a two-core connector are housed. The other configuration is the same as that of the first embodiment, and the method of use is the same as that of the first embodiment.

[Embodiment 3] FIG. 7 shows still another embodiment of the present invention. This extra-length storage case 11 does not rotate the upper tray 17 around the support 63,
A shaft pin 73 protrudes in the vertical direction near the first fitting portion 61 of the lower tray 15, and the second fitting portion 75 of the upper tray 17 is fitted to the shaft pin 73, and the upper tray 17 is It is designed to rotate around the shaft pin 73. [Other Embodiments] In the first embodiment, the case where the holding portion 59 of the single-core connector 29 is provided on the short side of the outer peripheral wall 49 of the lower tray 15 has been described. Can be provided inside the outer peripheral wall 49 similarly to the upper tray.

As described above, according to the present invention, the lower tray and the upper tray can be pulled out by rotating the lower tray and the upper tray around their corners as a center of rotation. In addition, even if the upper tray is pulled out, the optical fiber core is hardly pulled. For this reason, there is little possibility that an increase in the loss of the optical fiber core or breakage of the optical fiber will occur, and the reliability will be improved.
