Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily produce ornaments having built-up surface patterns at a low cost by attaching patterns by printing, etc., to the rear surface of a thermoplastic transparent resin sheet, embossing the surface and fusing the circumferential parts of the patterns. SOLUTION: The single or superposed plural patterns are formed by printing or foil stamping on the rear surface of the thermoplastic transparent resin sheet 5, such as polyvinyl chloride. A double coated adhesive tape 7 affixed with release paper 8 is stuck thereon. Next, the transparent resin sheet 5 is turned upside down and a die 9 is lowered thereon from above, by which the sheet is embossed and the circumferential parts of the patterns are thermally fused so as to generate roundness 6 at their cutting edges. As a result, the need for pouring the resin on the base attached with the patterns, then heating and solidifying the resin is eliminated.

Conventionally, when manufacturing such a decorative body, a pattern is formed on the surface of the base by printing or foil stamping, and then a thermosetting resin such as a transparent epoxy resin or urethane resin is poured on the pattern. That is, a method is employed in which so-called potting is performed to make the surface swell by utilizing the surface tension of the resin, and the resin is finally heated and solidified.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the method for producing a decorative body such as a sticker or a patch of the present invention comprises a simple method such as printing or foil stamping on the back surface of a thermoplastic transparent resin sheet 5 such as vinyl chloride. By applying a pattern 4 composed of one or a plurality of layers of ink 2 or foil 3 which are overlapped with each other, the transparent resin sheet 5 is inverted and the surface side thereof is subjected to an embossing process by a die 9 to obtain the above. The step is characterized in that the peripheral portion of the pattern 4 is melt-cut so that the cut edge portion has a roundness 6.

Embodiments First, FIGS. 1 to 7 relate to an embodiment for manufacturing a sticker. 1 and 2 show a completed sticker 1, in which reference numeral 2 is an ink and reference numeral 3 is a foil, and a pattern 4 is formed by superposing the ink 2 and the foil 3 on each other. . Reference numeral 5 is a thermoplastic transparent resin sheet such as PVC covering the pattern 4. A roundness 6 is attached to the peripheral edge of the transparent resin sheet 5. Also,
Reference numeral 7 is a double-sided adhesive tape, and reference numeral 8 is a release paper.

3 to 7 show a manufacturing process of the sticker 1. First, as shown in FIG. 3, a back surface of a thermoplastic transparent resin sheet 5 made of vinyl chloride or the like faces upward, and a part of the pattern 4 is printed on the upper surface thereof. Reference numeral 2 is ink attached by the printing.

Next, as shown in FIG. 4, a foil is stamped on the print to complete the pattern 4. Reference numeral 3 is a foil used for foil stamping. The foil stamping may be performed plural times, and a hairline or hologram may be used as the foil. Further, the pattern 4 may be formed by superposing the ink 2 and the foil 3 as described above, but the pattern 4 may be formed only by printing or only by foil stamping.

Next, as shown in FIG. 5, a double-sided adhesive tape 7 with a release paper 8 is attached on the layer of the ink 2 and the foil 3 which form the pattern 4. The double-sided adhesive tape 7 is indispensable for manufacturing the sticker 1 as in this embodiment, but when manufacturing a patch or the like, the double-sided adhesive tape is not necessary, so this step can be omitted.

Next, as shown in FIG. 6, the transparent resin sheet 5 provided with the pattern 4 in the above step is turned upside down. That is, the surface is up. Then, the die 9 is lowered from above and subjected to embossing, so that as shown in FIG.
The peripheral portion of the pattern 4 is heat-fused so that the cut edge has a roundness 6. As a result, the above-mentioned sticker 1 is completed.

The method for producing a decorative body such as a sticker or a patch of the present invention is as described above, and as in the above-mentioned conventional example, after pouring the resin onto the patterned base, the resin is applied. Since it is not necessary to take the complicated process of heating and solidifying, and the transparent resin sheet 5 having the pattern 4 on the back surface is simply melted, mass production can be performed easily and efficiently. In addition, the base, which has been indispensable for providing the pattern in the past, becomes unnecessary by providing the pattern 4 on the back surface of the transparent resin sheet 5 in the present invention, and some materials can be omitted. Therefore, the method for manufacturing a decorative body such as a sticker or patch according to the present invention has an advantage that a significant cost reduction is brought about as compared with the conventional manufacturing method.
