Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to a shearing displacement of a joint, by laminating and burying a desired number of laminate members in an elastic member, fixing flange form iron plates to both sides of the elastic member, and connecting it to the flanges of the pipe ends respectively through the iron plates. SOLUTION: In an elastic member 1 such as a natural rubber, a synthetic rubber, or a synthetic resin, a laminate member 2 of a woven cloth of a natural, synthetic, or metallic fibre, a nonwoven fabric, or a metal plate, is buried in the condition laminating a desired number being held by the elastic members 1 placing an interval, and iron plates 3 are fixed integrally on both sides in the flange form, so as to compose a packing 4. The iron plates 3 are fitted to the flanges 6 at the ends of pipes 5 to connect respectively, they are fixed by bolts 7, and the pipes 5 are connected integrally. Since the elastic members 1 at the end of the packing 4 is provided between the flanges 6 and the iron plates 3, a normal packing is not necessary to use. Consequently, both pipes are not connected directly, the joint can be shearing displaced, and no breakage of the connecting unit is generated.

First Embodiment According to the above-mentioned embodiment, the iron plates 3 are attached to both side surfaces of the elastic material 1 in which the laminated material 2 is embedded. According to this, the flange 6 and the iron plate 3 are attached when connecting with the pipe. Requires conventional packing between three. Therefore, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 4, a part of the iron plate 3 is embedded and fixed so that the iron plate 3 is fixed near both sides of the elastic material 1 in which the laminated material 2 is embedded.

FIG. 5 is a graph showing the relationship between the stress and the displacement rate of the packing 4 according to each of the above embodiments and the packing of natural rubber alone. The relational expression between stress and bending moment is shown in (1) below. 1 σ = M / Z, M = P × δ (1) σ: Stress M: Bending moment Z: Cross-sectional shape P: Load δ: Displacement A conventional packing that is soft like rubber alone has an external force greater than that of the packing of the present invention. In case of the action of, the amount of displacement is large, and according to the formula (1), the larger the displacement under the same load is, the larger the bending moment becomes, and the larger the stress applied to the packing having the same cross section becomes. Therefore, the conventional packing has a large load due to displacement, and the packing is destroyed.

A conventional hard packing such as a metal gasket has a displacement of almost 0 according to FIG. When a substance whose displacement amount is almost 0 is displaced, an impact force is generated in the joint portion and the bolt is broken. Therefore, according to the present invention in which fibers are laminated and embedded in an elastic material, as compared with a conventional soft packing, since the displacement for the same load is small, the bending moment is also small, whereby the stress applied to the packing is small and the packing is not broken. To be prevented. Moreover, since the displacement is possible, the displacement of the joint portion of the pipe is followed and no impact force is generated.

Further, as shown in FIG. 3, by fixing the iron plates 3 on both sides of the packing to the flanges of the respective pipes with bolts, the flanges of the pipes to be connected are not directly connected with each other by bolts. Shear displacement is possible and the bolt will not break.

According to the present invention described in detail above, a desired number of laminated materials are embedded in an elastic material so as to be sandwiched by the elastic materials, and iron plates are integrally fixed in a flange shape on both sides thereof. By connecting the flanges at the ends of the respective pipes that are configured as described above with connecting tools such as bolts through the iron plates, the pipe joints do not directly connect the pipes to each other, and Since the joint is sheared and displaced, the joint can be shear-displaced, the connector is not broken, and the joint can be shear-displaced when an earthquake or the like occurs.

Further, since the laminated material is embedded in the elastic material against strong compression acting on the joint, it has compression resistance and does not break, and as a result, damage to the joint can be prevented. You can do it.
