Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce spurious radiation from a front side of the plasma display device by using effectively the optical filter for countermeasures against unwanted radiation. SOLUTION: The optical filter 2 on a front face of the plasma display device PDP 3 is fitted behind a display window 1a of a case front frame 1 of the display device. A video image displayed on the PDP is seen through the display window 1a externally. A conductive film 2b made of an ITO or the like is formed on one side of the optical filter 2. A conductive paint 1b with a low sheet resistance of 5 ohm-square is painted to an inside of the case front frame 1 and in contact with the conductive film 2b of the optical filter 2 via a projection 1c in electric contact therewith. A hole 2d is made to four corners of the optical filter 2 and a thread hole is made to a part corresponding to the projection 1c of the case front frame 1 and the conductive film 2b of the optical filter 2 is in contact with the projection 1c of the case front frame 1 and fastened by a screw 4.
