FIG. 1 shows the overall structure of a rotary dryer provided with a condenser and constructed according to the present invention.
Is shown schematically. A tumble dryer, indicated generally by 10, supports the laundry to be dried.
It has an opening 13 that allows access to a rotatable drum 14 provided for holding it.
A cabinet 11 having a front panel 12 is provided. Opening 13 is this opening 13
Closed by a door 15 having a protruding portion 16 for sealing in
I can do it. Portion 16 is a layer filter intended to separate large particles and foreign matter.
Luther 17 is provided. Inside the layer filter, a fine filter 18 with a crossed mesh
It is provided (see Figures 3 and 4) and is arranged to separate the lint that is always present during the drying of the fabric.
Is placed.
The drum 14 is rotated by a drive motor (not shown) and at the same time the flow of hot air
Pass through the drum to dry the laundry. The flow of hot air requires heating the air from conduit 20.
To the fan 19 that sucks in through the element 21 and pushes this heated air through the drum 14.
Therefore, it is generated. This hot air is then expelled from drum 14 and
Through the layer filter 17 and the fine filter 18, as described in detail in
Flows through a condenser 22 provided in the.
After passing through the condenser 22, the flow of hot air is directed to the openings 23 and the corresponding openings in the cabinet 11.
24 and is returned to the conduit 20 and this hot air is sucked again by the fan 19.
Allow circulation to continue. As is known, the flow of hot air during passage through the condenser 22.
Is cooled and releases a large amount of its natural water content. The condensate formed in this way
Flow along the walls of the condenser and reduce the maximum inside the condenser as described in more detail below.
Are also collected in low places.
As a cooling medium for the condenser, the opening of the conduit 26 and the front member 12 generated by the fan 25.
Cooling of the condenser via 27 and the corresponding opening 28 in the door 15.
To the side (closest to the outer housing of the door) and through the opening 29 (see FIG. 3)
A flow of cooling air released into the surrounding atmosphere is used.
After this general description of the structure and operation of a rotary dryer equipped with a condenser
, A continuous description is given on the part of the tumble dryer for which the invention is intended, namely FIGS. 2 and 4.
For the condenser most clearly shown but some of which are also shown in Figures 3 and 5
, Done.
The condenser 22 is a bent sheet metal, more specifically 0.3 mm thick bent aluminum.
It is of the kind made from a foil of Ni. Bending, as will be apparent below
The prepared sheet metal is properly integrated so that the thickness of the sheet metal can be further reduced to, for example, 0.2 mm.
Well held. This provides a substantial advantage as it can reduce weight by 30%. Thick
In the case of a condenser with a sheet metal 0.3 mm thick and a weight of 1 kg, the thickness reduction to 0.2 mm is 3 hectares.
This results in a reduction in grams (300 g). The shape of the condenser appears in the right part of Figure 2.
However, it is most clearly shown in FIG. Sheet metal forms a series of predominantly rectangular conduits
It is bent so that it is done. These conduits are separated into two groups, one of which
30 is connected to the flow of hot air and the second group 31 is connected to the flow of cold air
. The two groups of conduits 30 and 31 are completely separated from each other and therefore to the hot air.
Each inlet and outlet opening for cold air is sealed by suitable means.
The bent aluminum sheet metal of condenser 22 is inserted into mounting frame 32
Along the edges with a silicone type sealant or the like. Mechanically
This bent sheet metal, conduit 30 on the hot air side of both the top and bottom of the condenser.
It is held neat by a comb-shaped element 33 projecting into it. The comb element 33 is a mounting flap.
Attached to the ram 32 and having a reduced cross at its base, thereby
Allow the elements to move easily laterally to compensate for possible tolerances of comb element 33.
ing. The width of the comb element 33 is slightly larger than the width of the conduit 30 and the abrasion caused thereby.
Contributes to the ability to fix the bent sheet metal to the mounting frame with good workability
I do.
The strip 34 is secured to the lower end of the condenser by screws 35 as seen in FIGS.
Have been. This strip projects on the cooling air side from below into the conduit 31
A comb element 36 is provided. Therefore, the comb-shaped element 33 is guided from the side by the first group of guides.
When the comb element 36 projects into the tube 30 while the comb element 36 projects from below into the second group of conduits 31.
As a result of the fact that the condenser 22 is very firmly fixed in the mounting frame 32
Will be achieved.
As seen in FIG. 4, the hot air conduit 30 of the condenser 22 is closed at the top and bottom, respectively.
And the two sheet metal walls forming each conduit are compressed together and thereby the inclined portion
Allow minutes 37, 38 to form. The upper inclined portion 37 directs the air flow vertically.
It is designed to reorient in an essentially horizontal direction from the
Section 38 directs the condensed water to a discharge groove 39 or similar section located in the bottom section of the condenser.
To guide you.
The hot air conduit 30 at the top and bottom in the pressurized area shown at 40 in FIG.
In order to close them tightly, the sloped parts 37 located closest to the periphery of the condenser should be
Fold along the line 41 that intersects the diagonal line that defines each sloped portion at the end of 38.
Is formed. The folded part shown at 42 after folding is for a tight joint
It is pressed against the rest of the previously compressed part 40. In this way on the top
Leakage of air and water at the bottom are prevented. Preventing water from leaking
Otherwise, water leaking from the door-mounted condenser will flow onto the supporting surface of the tumble dryer.
Very important because it will be leaked
It is.
The discharge of the condensed water from the discharge groove 39 provided in the condenser can be performed by any suitable method.
Can be. For example, the discharge groove may be located below the condenser from the lateral outer end of the condenser.
In the central part where an opening 54 is provided which faces the discharge conduit 55 (Fig. 6) arranged in
It has two sloping parts 39a, 39b (FIG. 2) facing it, said conduit 55 being
To the outlet tube 43 shown in FIG. Exit chu when the door is closed
Canisters can be removed for discharge or can be directly connected to drains.
It is adapted to be connected to a storage container 44 provided on the bit 11. When left open
The outlet tube 43 is shown in Fig. 7 to avoid dripping of condensed water.
A valve 45, which is shown in detail in FIG. The valve 45 is attached to the door 15 by screws or the like not shown.
It has a tubular housing 46 fixed in place. This housing has a discharge opening 48
The internal conduit 47. The tubular housing is under the action of the spring 50.
Actuated so that the sealing surface 51 on the valve cap is placed in the groove of the tubular housing 46.
Surrounded by an outer valve cap 49 that allows it to be pressed against a worn O-ring 52
Has been. Bellows gasket 56 is housing at the end of the valve opposite the opening 48
Prevents leakage between 46 and valve cap 49. The housing 46 has a valve cap 49
There is a flange 53 which is adapted to be activated when the door is pushed to the right side of
This exposes the discharge opening 48 and allows water to flow from the condenser 22 to the storage container 44.
It can be so. Since the seal is located outside the discharge opening 48, leakage will
Safely blocked when opened.
With respect to the flow of air through the condenser 22 as described above, from the drum 14 of the tumble dryer.
Air saturated with warm water passes through opening 13, layer filter 17 and fine filter 18.
Then introduced into the lower part of the condenser where
The lower sloping portion 38 redirects the air upwards and causes the wall of the hot air conduit 30 to
Blow away. This air stream then reaches the upper slope 37
Causes the air flow to be diverted primarily in the horizontal direction and through openings 23 and 24
It is guided back into the channel 10 and the conduit 20 disposed therein.
The cooling side of the condenser is limited by the front panel 51 of the door in addition to the sheet metal wall
It is constituted by the conduit 31. The cooling air generated by the fan 25 is the top of the condenser 22.
Enter the section through the conduit 26 and the openings 27, 28 and are then guided downwards over the wall of the conduit 31.
After the cleaning, the air passes through the outlet opening 29 provided in the lower part of the door 15 to the condenser.
Leave the cooling side.
For a rotary dryer composed of a thin plate-shaped material according to the present invention as described above
The condenser provides unique advantages. This whole condenser is very easy and reliable to manufacture.
Can be done in some way, and closing the conduit on the heating side of the condenser is also stable
Can be done by relatively simple bending and compressing action that results in a tight joint
You. Fixing the entire condenser to the mounting frame with comb-shaped elements is very effective
Therefore, even very thin foil materials of aluminum can be used. further,
The sloping portion helps guide the flow of hot air through the condenser conduit in an effective way.
And at the same time, the lower bevel facilitates the discharge of condensed water from the wall of the hot air conduit.
