Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with an expensive pressure container and thereby obtain an advantage in terms of facilities by charging compressed wood into a sleeve with an airtightly sealed structure under a hermetically closed state, and charging the sleeve into a heat medium oil tank at an ordinary pressure to thermally fix the wood. SOLUTION: First, wood 1 which is softened by vapor processing and mechanically compressed under pressure is charged into a sleeve 2, then a cap 4 is screwed into a mouthpiece 3 fixed to the open end part of the sleeve 2 to hermetically seal the open end part. Next, the sleeve 2 is charged into a heat medium oil tank to thermally fix the compressed wood 1. To thermally fix the wood 1, it requires the presence of more than a specified amount of moisture. However, the wood 1 charged under a hermetically closed state contains adequate moisture for thermal fixing because it is processed with vapor in the softening step. Consequently, the conventional vapor processing at a high temperature and under a high pressure is no longer required and also a costly pressure container is unnecessary. In addition, a heat medium need not be replaced when the single round of thermal fixing is ended, while the heat medium has to be replaced when the conventional processing method is used. Besides, this new processing method is advantageous in terms of productivity and energy efficiency.

By the way, according to the above-described method for consolidating wood, in any of the methods, high-temperature and high-pressure steam treatment is required to heat-fix the wood compressed under pressure. Therefore, the processing tank requires a pressure vessel capable of high-temperature and high-pressure processing, which is disadvantageous in that the equipment cost is high, and requires steps such as temperature rising-heat fixing-deaeration-cooling. There are many numbers, and moreover, once the heat fixing is completed, it is necessary to replace all the steam in the processing tank, and there are many disadvantages in terms of productivity and energy efficiency, which is not practical.

First, as shown in FIG. 1, a compressed wood 1 is hermetically loaded into a pod 2. That is, wood 1 softened by steam treatment and mechanically compressed under pressure is loaded into a pod tube 2, and a cap 4 is screwed to a mouthpiece 3 fixed to the open end of the pod tube 2 to remove the pod tube 2. Seal the open end. By the way, as a method for loading the pressure-compressed wood 1 into the pod tube 2, the wood softened by steam treatment of the press-pressing method is pressed into the pod tube 2 by a cylinder and loaded (pressurized compression). The method is suitable for application of the present invention. However, a method of cooling the wood 1 pressed (pressurized and pressed) by the mold pressing method and temporarily fixing the shape and loading the wood 1 into the sheath tube 2 is also possible.

Next, as shown in FIG. 2, the sheath tube 2 is put into the heating medium oil tank 5 to heat-fix the compressed wood 1. That is, the pods 2 in which the compressed wood 1 is hermetically loaded are sequentially supplied to the pod pipe supply area on the upstream side (left side in the figure) of the heat medium oil tank 5 of the conveyor 7, and the conveyor 7
The pods 2 are sequentially charged into the heating medium oil tank 5 by the heating method, and the wood 1 is heated by the heating medium oil 5 in the heating medium oil tank 5 through the pods 2 to perform heat fixation. Incidentally, in order to heat-fix, it is necessary for the wood 1 to have a certain amount of water or more, but the wood 1 hermetically loaded in the sheath tube 2 is required.
Since the steam treatment is performed in the softening process, the moisture for heat fixation is sufficient.

As described above, according to the present invention,
Since the compressed wood is hermetically loaded into a pod with an airtight seal structure and placed in a heat transfer oil tank at normal pressure for heat fixation, the conventional high temperature and high pressure steam treatment is unnecessary. . Therefore, an expensive pressure vessel is not required, which is advantageous in terms of equipment. In addition, it is not necessary to replace the heat medium after heat fixing once as in the conventional case, which is advantageous in terms of productivity and energy efficiency and is excellent in practicality.
