ストックされる紙の種類は全て同一である。給紙ユニッ
ト10は、図11に示すように、ピニオン71とラック
72によって昇降される昇降式トレー70にストックさ
れた記録紙1をピックアップローラ73で拾い上げ、フ
ィードローラ74,リバースローラ75,分離板76で
一枚ずつ確実に給紙する構成を取る。本実施例では、フ
ィードローラ74で紙が送られた後の部分に、図4を使
って説明した紙のこし判定手段を設ける。本構成におい
ては印刷開始時、最初に給紙された一枚目の記録紙1の
紙のこしを判定することにより、該記録紙1に対し定着
ユニットにおける用紙剥離補助手段を動作させる/させ
ないを判断し、以下の記録紙に関しては紙のこし判定機
構を動作させずに連続給紙が可能となる。なお、フィー
ドローラ74をこし判定機構の搬送コロ52と兼用させ
る事により部品数の削減も可能である。

形成装置には不適合である旨使用者に通知する。用紙剥
離補助手段無しでも分離できる紙や用紙剥離補助手段を
動作させれば分離できる紙においては、図14に示すよ
うに、規制板70は問題なくはじくことができるので、
紙搬送の障害とはなりえず、規制板56におけるカム6
0のような強制待付手段は設けなくとも良いが、設けて
も良い。なお規制板56は、図5に示すように、櫛歯状
となし、規制板70はその隙間に紙先端に対し、同一直
線上にくるよう配置することが望ましい。
