Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an underwater lighting without requiring a crane by floating a vertically and horizontally rotatable auxiliary lighting with reflecting plate on the water surface of the pool of a spent fuel pit. SOLUTION: This underwater lighting system has a lamp 1 arranged in water, a reflecting plate 2 for determining the lighting angle, a frame 3 for supporting them, and a water surface floating float 4. The reflecting plate 2 is vertically and horizontally rotatable. The underwater lighting system is floated and used in a proper position on the water surface of the pool of a spent fuel pit after the vertical and horizontal angles of the reflecting plate 2 in the air. The use of a crane as in the past is not required in this lighting system, and since the lighting system is situated on the water surface of the pool, it never obstructs the movement of a crane traveling on the pool side.
