Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily check the rotating diection of a motor by using a 7-segment LED to display the normal/inverse rotating direction of an induction motor in an inverter apparatus. SOLUTION: A display section 1 is formed using four 7-segment LEDs. When a motor is rotating in the inverse direction, numeral 2 of the uppermost digit of the display section 1 blinks with the period of 0.5sec and this numeral 2 extinguishes when the motor is rotating in the inverse direction. In this case, the part of numeral 1 of the 7-segment LED of the most significant digit and the part of 1, 2 of the LED of the other digits is used for display not related to the rotating direction such as output frequency and internal parameters. With display of LED, the rotating direction of motor can easily be detected and it is no longer necessary to add other parts for display of the rotating direction.
