Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the clogging of a packing material in a water treatment device applying purifying treatment to the water to be treated by bringing the water to be treated into contact with the packing material in a plurality of treatment tanks while passing the same through the respective treatment tanks. SOLUTION: Respective treatment tanks 2-9 are partitioned so that the upstream parts thereof and the underside parts of the bottom surfaces thereof become exclusive water passing parts 14, 17... to provide packing parts 13, 16... in the respective treatment tanks and the packing parts are packed with a packing material, and water to be treated (continuous arrow) in allowed to flow in the respective treatment tanks as the falling streams flowing to the water passing parts from above to below and allowed to flow in the packing parts as rising streams flowing upwardly from the water permeable bottom surfaces.

2. Description of the Related Art The present applicant has previously filed Japanese Patent Application No. 5-16834.
A water treatment device was proposed as No. 9 (JP-A-7-983). This water treatment device is, from the upstream side to the downstream side, for example, a pretreatment tank filled with a porous filter medium made of plastic, a denitrification tank filled with assimilated material and an adsorbent, a chitosan charcoal tank filled with chitosan charcoal, and phosphorus. A dephosphorization tank filled with an adsorbent for adsorption and a finishing tank filled with charcoal are continuously provided, and the water to be treated is passed through each of these tanks in a descending and ascending flow repeatedly, and the filler in each treating tank. It is highly suitable for advanced purification of polluted water under pollutant load conditions such as in small rivers where household wastewater is drained as it is.

Such a water treatment device has already been installed as a practical device in some rivers and the like and exhibits its excellent purification ability. However, it has become clear that an unexpected phenomenon occurs when collecting operating data and the like for these devices. That is, after a certain period of time from the start of operation, the actual processing efficiency becomes lower than the calculated one.

[0004] Therefore, when pursuing this, unexpected filling of the packing material occurs in some tanks, and even if the packing material does not clog, the contact efficiency of the water to be treated with the packing material is lower than the calculation. In some cases, it was found that these were the causes of the reduced efficiency. Therefore, we further analyzed the mechanism of this clogging phenomenon and the phenomenon that the contact efficiency with the packing material decreases, and found that clogging easily occurs when the water to be treated flows into the packing material layer in a downward flow. It was clarified that the flow of water is uneven in the filler layer, and a blind spot portion of the flow is generated in which the flow is stopped, and this is a factor that reduces the contact efficiency.

A water treatment apparatus according to the present invention is provided with a plurality of treatment tanks each filled with a different filling material in order from the upstream side to the downstream side, and treats water to be treated with these treatment tanks. Basically, it passes through the tank and makes contact with the filler there to carry out a purification treatment. In addition to this, in each processing tank, the upstream side and the bottom side of the bottom side are dedicated water passage parts. The container is partitioned and a filling part is provided, and the filling material is filled in the filling part. Then, the water to be treated is made to flow into each water passage part in a downward flow flowing from the upper side to the lower side of each water passing part. The filling portion is made to flow upward from the water-permeable bottom surface.

[0007] In this water treatment device, the inflow of the water to be treated into each treatment tank is exclusively used for the passage of water, that is, the descent in the water passage portion where there is no substantial water flow resistance without filling with a filler or the like. The flow is carried out in a flowing manner, and the filling material layer is always made to flow in an ascending flow with less clogging. Therefore, the clogging of the filler can be effectively prevented.
