Abstract

PURPOSE: To solidify a waste oil which is liquid at ordinary temp. to obtain a solid to be discarded as a kitchen refuse or reused as a crude soap, by using a solution comprising an alkali for partially saponifying the oil and a saponification accelerator for solidifying the oil within a few minutes after initiation of the saponification. CONSTITUTION: An oil which is liquid at ordinary temp. is saponified with an alkali, i.e., caustic soda or caustic potash, in an amount of 1/6 to 1/3 of that necessary for complete saponification, in the presence of a saponification accelerator for solidifying the oil within about one to three minutes after initiation of the saponification. The alkali is preferably caustic soda from the standpoint of the hardness of the solid saponification product. Examples of the accelerator include diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, diethylene glycol monoisobutyl ether, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, propylene glycol, and 2-phenoxyethanol polypropylene glycol. Also effective are combinations of any of these with ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, n-propyl alcohol, etc.

[Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to waste oils and fats, etc., which are liquid at room temperature and are used at about 90 ° C. from room temperature.
In the meantime, about 15% to 20% by volume of the solution of an alkali and a saponification accelerator, which is about 1/6 to 1/3 of the saponification value of the fat, is added to the fat and the mixture is stirred for about 1 to 3 minutes. Then, if it is made uniform, it solidifies, so it is discarded as raw garbage or it is used for cleaning other than cosmetics by utilizing the cleaning power. In this case, it is possible to use it as a crude soap by using a solidified solution prepared by increasing the solution in advance.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, the waste oil of edible oil for home and business has been treated by solidifying the oil with castor fatty acid or soaking it in newspaper or the like and discarding it as raw garbage. When the solidification or the packaging is insufficient, the inside of the garbage truck is contaminated in any case, which hinders the work.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) In the present invention, the solidification treatment time is extremely short at 1 to 3 minutes, there is no fear of burns or fires, and the oil does not exude from the solidified product. It is clean because it can be treated as soap instead of as. If it is used as soap, it will also be a resource reuse.
