The pressure-sensitive adhesive attached to the surface of the protective film of the polarizing plate (or the phase plate) interferes with the inspection and is sticky, which is an obstacle to shipping the product.

A vinylidene film, a synthetic rubber film, or the like is used, and these films may be unstretched films or stretched films, and may be single-layer films or multi-layer films.
When a stretched film is used, it is preferable to use a uniaxially stretched film because a biaxially stretched film has a large retardation value and may interfere with light to generate diffraction fringes.

However, when the protective film (1) itself has a pressure-sensitive adhesive property or a heat-sensitive adhesive property, since it can be attached to a polarizing plate or a phase plate by pressure bonding or thermocompression bonding, the adhesive layer (3 ) Can be omitted. When the adhesive layer (3) is provided, the release sheet (4) is usually coated on it.

When the peel strength is less than 400 g / 24 mm, the cut surface of the surface protective film cannot be smoothly removed by a cellophane adhesive tape in the later step. When stacked, the adhesive on the edge may adhere to the surface of the protective film of another polarizing plate or phase plate.

In order to form (2), a release treatment agent capable of providing a treated surface that does not exhibit excessive release properties, such as a release treatment agent having a polymer having a long-chain alkyl group or a fluoroalkyl group as a main component, for example, , Long chain alkyl carbamate of hydroxyl group containing polymer, perfluoroalkyl carbamate of hydroxyl group containing polymer, copolymer of perfluoroalkyl acrylate, copolymer of long chain alkyl acrylate, copolymer of long chain alkyl vinyl ester, long chain alkyl Protective film (1) with a release agent containing vinyl ether copolymer, long-chain alkyl acrylamide copolymer, long-chain alkyl allyl ester copolymer
A method of coating on the surface which becomes the outer surface of the is suitably adopted. Here, the long-chain alkyl is an alkyl group having 12 or more carbon atoms (particularly, 18 carbon atoms) including an octadecyl group.

First, a solvent solution of an antistatic agent (“Elecond 10S” manufactured by Sogaku Kagaku Co., Ltd.) consisting of a cationic activator was coated and dried to form an antistatic layer of 0.1 g / m 2 on a solids basis. Then, a solvent solution of an alkyl carbamate-based release treatment agent (“Peel Oil 1010” manufactured by Yansha Yushi-Kogyo Co., Ltd.) was coated on it, and dried to prevent an electrostatic charge of 0.08 g / m 2 on a solids basis. It was formed on the weakly peeling surface (2) having the property.

The cut pieces were stacked, but no trouble such as adhesion of the adhesive on the edge to the surface of the protective film of another polarizing plate (or phase plate) occurred. Further, since it has a preferable antistatic property,
There were no problems with the stacks sticking together.

よって、本発明は実用性が大きいものである。As described in the section of the operation, when the surface protective film of the present invention is used, when the cut polarizing plates or phase plates are stacked, the adhesive on the edge of other polarizing plates or phase plates is It does not adhere to the surface of the protective film, and the surface protective film can be smoothly removed by the cellophane adhesive tape in the subsequent step. Further, if the outer surface of the surface protective film has not only weak peeling property but also antistatic property, there will be no trouble that stuck products of the polarizing plate or the phase plate after cutting stick to each other.
Therefore, the present invention is highly practical.
