Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce volatile organic solvents discharged in the atmosphere by arranging a lot of pairs of fan-shaped water scattering devices in the center of a sprinkler chamber, blocking up the inlet of the sprinkler chamber by a fan-shaped water curtain to be scattered, arranging a wire net filter in the outlet of the sprinkler chamber and causing the scattered water to flow down along the wire net filter. SOLUTION: A sprinkler chamber 2 in which an air current is sucked onto the floor surface of a painting booth 1 is dividedly provided. A lot of fan-shaped water scattering devices 6 are arranged in the sprinkler chamber 2, and a water curtain is formed in the sprinkler chamber 2 by fan-shaped scattered water. A meshlike wire net filter 5 consisting of a fine mesh is arranged in the outlet of the sprinkler chamber 2, and a large amount of the scattered water is caused to flow onto the wire net filter 5 to form a water film. In this way, volatile organic solvent(VOC) in air which is passed through the water curtain and the water film on the wire net filter 5 and is discharged in the atmosphere is remarkably reduced conforming to the environmental standard.

2. Description of the Related Art Environmental protection limits the release of VOCs into the atmosphere, and worker protection helps reduce VOCs in a paint booth. Water-based paints with reduced VOC usage have been sold on a trial basis, but they have not reached widespread use due to their coating finish quality. The present inventor has proposed a method in which a spray chamber is formed on the floor of the coating booth and the air in the coating booth that is forcibly discharged is absorbed by spray water (Japanese Patent Application No. 4-292004).

In order to absorb VOC, it is preferable to provide an air filter such as activated carbon at the outlet of the coating booth, but the maintenance cost is too high. Although the method of spraying water in the spray chamber is advantageous in terms of cost, VOC
Not enough absorption. By adopting a water curtain and a water film filter, a low cost VOC absorption method has become possible.

[Means for Solving the Problems] A spray chamber for sucking airflow is defined on the floor surface of a coating booth, and a large number of opposing fan-shaped water sprinklers are arranged in the center of the water spray chamber. The inlet of the chamber is closed, a wire mesh filter with fine mesh is arranged at the outlet of the sprinkling chamber, and the sprayed water flows down along the wire mesh filter to form a water film filter. Most of the VOC components in the air in the coating booth that is forcibly exhausted are removed when passing through the water curtain and the water film filter. An air filter is placed at the air inlet of the coating booth, and water is dropped on this filter to maintain the humidity in the coating booth and prevent the generation of static electricity.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION A sprinkler chamber 2 is defined on the floor surface of a coating booth 1, and a fan 3 and an air filter 4 are arranged on a fresh air intake passage on a ceiling surface. A 3 mm square (mesh) wire mesh filter 5 is arranged in the air outlet path of the water sprinkling chamber 2, and a plurality of opposed fan-shaped water sprinklers 6 are arranged in the central upper part. This fan-shaped water sprinkler 6 connected to the water pipe 7
As shown in Fig. 3, it has an inclined cut surface, and the jet flow blown to this cut surface diffuses thinly like a fan. The outlets of the pair of fan-shaped water sprayers 6 face each other. The six sets of fan-shaped water sprinklers 6 are arranged at equal intervals as shown in FIG. Adjacent fan-shaped water sprayers 6 are slightly displaced from each other so that the fan-shaped film surfaces do not interfere with each other. A water curtain is formed by the fan-shaped film surface radiated from each fan-shaped water sprinkler 6. The fan-shaped water sprinkler 6 is adjusted so that the fan-shaped water shown by the dotted line in FIG. 2 reaches the upper part of the wire mesh filter 5. A large amount of fan-shaped water flowing down the wire mesh filter 5 flows down so as to block the wire mesh filter 5 like a waterfall. The water that has dropped to the bottom of the sprinkling chamber 2 is guided to the drainage channel 8 in which the filter 9 is arranged. The air that has passed through the wire netting filter 5 is discharged into the atmosphere through the exhaust passage 10. A sprinkler pipe 11 is provided above the air filter 4 arranged at the ceiling air intake port of the coating booth 1.

Next, the operation will be described. By the operation of the fan 3, the fresh air filtered by the air filter 4 is compressed and supplied into the coating booth 1. Contaminated air containing VOCs and paint powder is forcibly discharged to the sprinkling chamber 2 on the floor, passes through the wire mesh filter 5, and is released into the atmosphere. The fan-shaped thin film (angle θ) discharged from the fan-shaped water sprinkler 6 welds and removes VOC and paint powder in the contaminated air passing through. Since a large number of fan-shaped water sprayer pairs facing each other are arranged, the water spray chamber 2 is closed by this fan-shaped thin film group as shown in FIG. It was impossible to capture and purify all the contaminated air with the conventional spray (water droplet) method. In the present invention, since the water curtain is provided so as to close the water spray chamber 2, most of the contaminated air passing through will be captured by this water film. VO
The water to which C and the paint components have been deposited is filtered by the filter 9 and discharged through the drainage channel 8. The filtered water may be returned to the water pipe 7.

The air forcibly discharged from the sprinkling chamber 2 to the exhaust passage 10 passes through the fine meshes of the wire mesh filter 5 at an intense speed. Since a large amount of water is flowing through the wire mesh filter 5 so as to block the eyes, a funnel-shaped water film is formed in each eye as shown in FIG.
The OC component and the like are removed. The concentration of xylene and toluene in the exhaust passage 10 was 10 PPM or less. The inside of the coating booth was 0 PPM. If a rubber component paint is used during coating in the coating booth, the rubber component adheres to the wire mesh filter 5 and the filter is clogged. In the present invention, a large amount of water always flows down the wire mesh filter 5, so that the blockage is prevented.
By passing the water film through the water curtain and the wire mesh filter 5, the air released into the atmosphere can pass the environmental standard. Generally, when the air in the coating booth 1 is dried, static electricity is likely to occur. Dust tends to adhere to the sheet metal coating film. In order to prevent this, in the present invention, water is sprayed from the sprinkler pipe 11 to the air filter 4 to maintain the humidity of the air supplied into the coating booth 1 high. In order to prevent the temperature in the coating booth from decreasing, the temperature of the water supplied to the sprinkler pipe 11 is raised.

In summary, according to the present invention, the water spray chamber 2 for sucking airflow is defined on the floor surface of the coating booth, and a large number of fan-shaped water sprinklers 6 are arranged in the water spray chamber. The mesh-shaped wire mesh filter 5 is formed at the outlet of the water spray chamber, and a large amount of sprayed water is caused to flow through the wire mesh filter to form a water film, so that the VOC of the air released into the atmosphere can be significantly reduced. . Since the painting booth is constantly supplied with fresh air, the working environment for sheet metal painting is greatly improved.
