Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 (1)光出力と、前記光出力の変調を生成するための変調手段と、光側波帯が光 出力で生じさせるようにする装置と、前記光出力を受信する受信機で前記側波帯 間の少なくとも1つのビート周波数の光検出を可能にするように光出力の特性を 変更する変更手段とを具備する通信システムで使用される光信号源。 (2)前記変調手段が前記光出力で位相変調を生成する請求項1記載の信号源。 (3)前記変調手段が前記出力で周波数変調を生成する請求項1記載の信号源。 (4)前記変更手段が位相変更手段を具備する請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項記 載の信号源。 (5)前記位相変更手段が分散素子を具備する請求項4記載の信号源。 (6)前記分散素子が光ファイバを具備する請求項5記載の信号源。 (7)前記分散素子が格子対を具備する請求項5記載の信号源。 (8)実質的に添付図面を参照して説明された光信号源。 (9)(i)光出力を発生するのに十分な駆動電流で半導体光源を駆動し、 (ii)前記光出力を変調し、 (iii)前記変調に関して光出力で側波帯を生成し、 (iv)前記側波帯間のビート周波数を生成するため前記 側波帯の相対特性を変更するステップを有する光通信信号中に光検出可能な無線 周波数信号を発生する方法。 (10)ステップ(iv)が前記側波帯の相対位相特性を変更するステップを有 する請求項9記載の方法。 (11)半導体レーザ構造と、その構造から光出力を生成するように駆動電流を 供給する手段と、前記出力に変調を生成するための変調手段と、少なくとも1つ のビート周波数を生成する光側波帯を光出力で生じさせる装置と、前記光出力を 受信する受信機で少なくとも1つのビート周波数の光検出を可能にするように光 出力の特性を変更する変更手段とを具備する通信システムで使用される光信号源 。 (12)前記レーザ構造が直接周波数変調に適切なレーザを具備する請求項11 記載の信号源。 (13)前記レーザ構造が連続波レーザを具備し、前記変調手段が位相変調器を 具備する請求項11記載の信号源。
