改良された耐漏洩性を有する使い捨て吸収性おむつ
本発明は、不透過性の外方支持シートと透過性内方シートとの間に配置された
吸収性パッドから成る形式の幼児又は失禁者用の使い捨て吸収性おむつから成る
衛生物品に関する。
この形式の衛生物品は、例えば特許出願ＧＢ−Ａ−２１６１０５９（Kimberly
-Clark）から周知である。この書類によれば、二つの側部耐漏洩性フラップが吸
収性パッドの上方で互いに向かって延び、その弾性化末縁が互いに隣接する。二
つの側部耐漏洩性フラップは液体不透過性支持シートとこの支持シートに取り付
けた吸収性パッドとを覆う液体透過性内方シートを二つ折りすることにより作ら
れる。おむつの二つの横方向縁に対応する二つの端で、フラップは常に互いに向
き合うように内方に面するように取り付けられ、例えば衛生物品を使用者に当て
たときに外方へ折り曲げられることができない。これらの側部フラップは側方向
の、特に股区域に於ける、衛生物品の耐漏洩性を向上する。他方、股区域に於て
、漏洩の危険が二つのベルト区域に残る。
更に、かかる衛生物品の各ベルト区域に提案された横方向縁の方向に衛生物品
の横方向縁から延びたフラップから成るポケットを設けることは、例えば、特許
出願ＧＢ−Ａ−２１５９６９３（Kimberly-Clark）から周知であり、このフラッ
プの末縁は任意に弾性化されることができる。これらのポケットはベルト区域の
みの耐漏洩性を向上する。
同衛生物品に於て、特に股区域の側方耐漏洩性と二つのベルト区域の耐漏洩性
とを向上することが提案されている。しかして、特許ＵＳ−Ａ−４６６２８７７
（Williams）によれば、かかる衛生物品の内方シートは二つの長さ方向縁を弾性
化した長方形開口又は切取り部を吸収性パッドの上方に含む追加のシートにより
覆われる。次のことに注目されよう。即ち、この書類によれば、追加のシートは
衛生物品の横方向縁に対応する二つの対向横方向縁に沿って、且つ衛生物品の股
弾性部材の外側に位置する二つの対向長さ方向縁に沿って透過性内方シートへ取
り付けられ、前記弾性部材自体は吸収性パッドの対向長さ方向縁の外側に位置す
る。弾性化された長さ方向縁を持つ長方形開口を含むかかる追加のシートは、特
にこの開口の幅（３０ｃｍ程度の長さの場合１２ｃｍ程度）の故に必ずしも満足
なものではない。なお、追加のシートの開口の幅の故に、このシート自体は十分
な幅の二つの側部フラップを提供すべく吸収性パッドよりも幅が広くなければな
らず、この結果この補充シートにかなりの材料か使用されることになる。しかし
、おむつの如き使い捨て吸収性衛生物品の場合、採用される材料の量、従ってま
た物品の製造コストをできる限り減少することが必須である。
更に、吸収性おむつに二つの側部耐漏洩性フラップと二つのベルトポケットと
を設けることも例えば特許出願ＥＰ−Ａ−０３７６０２２（The Procter and Ga
mble）で既に提案されている。しかし、この書類に於て、ベルトポケットは二つ
の追加された横方向ストリップにより作られ、こ
のことは、特におむつが連続的に長さ方向に製造されるときに、おむつの製造を
複雑にする。
本発明の目的は、構造と製造が簡単でありながら、吸収性パッドの全周に延び
た効果的な耐漏洩性バリヤを内蔵した使い捨て吸収性おむつを製造することであ
る。
本発明による使い捨て吸収性おむつは、全体が長方形の液体不透過性外方支持
シート、この支持シートへ取り付けた一般に長方形の吸収性パッド、及び吸収性
パッドを覆う透過性内方カバーシートから成る。なお、このおむつは使用者の腰
の回りに閉じるのを可能ならしめる取り付け手段を含む。更に、おむつは吸収性
パッドの長さ方向縁の外側で、支持シートへ伸張状態で取り付けられた長さ方向
弾性部材を含む。なお、二つの側部フラップは前記カバー内方シートの上に置か
れ、吸収性パッドの上方で延び、その基縁が吸収性パッドの長さ方向縁の実質的
に上方に位置しあるいは前記縁に関して内方へ後退した長さ方向線に沿って前記
カバー内方シートへ結合され、その弾性化された末縁は互いに近くに位置する。
本発明によれば、前記側部フラップは、末縁で、おむつの横方向縁から、少なく
とも吸収性パッドの対応横方向縁まで、結合され、かくして吸収性パッドの全周
にわたって周囲耐漏洩性バリヤを形成する。
二つの側部耐漏洩性フラップの各々は例えば、フラップの基縁から成る長さ方
向線に沿って且つおむつの二つの横方向縁に沿っておむつのカバーシート上に偏
平状態で取り付けられた管状鞘から成ることができ、少なくとも一つの弾性部材
はフラップの未縁を形成する長さ方向線に沿って
伸張状態で前記鞘に取り付けられる。
吸収性パッドに関するフラップの持ち上げを更に向上するために、第２の弾性
部材を伸張状態で、前記鞘に、フラップの基縁の近くに位置する長さ方向線に沿
って取り付けることができる。
他の実施例によれば、側部耐漏洩フラップはおむつの横方向縁に対応する二つ
の横方向縁に沿って、且つ二つのフラップの基縁を形成する二つの長さ方向縁に
沿ってカバーシートへ取り付けられながらおむつの全長にわたって且つおむつの
幅の中央部分にわたってカバーシートを覆う同じ長さのテープから成る。このテ
ープはその長さの中央部分に長さ方向中央スリットを有し、このスリットの二つ
の縁は伸張された長さ方向弾性部材により弾性化されて二つの側部耐漏洩性フラ
ップの末縁を形成する。
他の形態によれば、二つの側部耐漏洩性フラップはその長さの中央部分に長さ
方向スリットを呈する被覆シート自体から成り、前記長さ方向スリットの二つの
長さ方向縁は伸張状態で取り付けられた弾性部材により弾性化される。この場合

第１図ないし第３図に示す如きおむつは、それ自体周知の態様で、液体不透過
性支持シート１、吸収性パッド２（
これは例えば、所謂超吸収性重合体を任意に組み入れたセルロースフラッフパル
プから作られる）、液体透過性カバーシート３（これは例えは不織ウエブから作
られる）から成る。２枚のシート１、３は同じ大きさであり、同じ鼓形、即ち、
長方形であり、その長方形の二つの対向した側部切取り部４が、おむつの長さ方
向において、大きい幅の二つの端区域６、７間に幅の減少した股区域５を画成す
る。
２枚のシート１、３間に配置された吸収性パッド２もまた鼓形であるが、その
寸法はパッド２の全周に例えば接着により結合された２枚のシート１、３よりも
小さい。
例えば一つ又は多数の弾性ストランド又は糸から、あるいは小さい弾性テープ
から各々成る長さ方向弾性部材８は、支持シート１へ、少なくとも股区域５に於
て、シート１の切取り部４の底と吸収性パッド２の対応切取り部の底との間で伸
張状態で取り付けられる。
更に、接着取り付け具９はおむつの後部を形成する端区域６の対向側縁へ取り
付けられる。
二つの側部耐漏洩フラップ１０は吸収性パッド２の上方で、おむつの全長にわ
たりカバーシート３へ取り付けられる。
上記の如きおむつは従来の構造のものであり、この理由で、これら各種構成部
材の組立手段、特に接着による手段は図を複雑にしないために図示していない。
各フラップ１０は長さ方向の接着線又は溶着線１２により折り返されて自身に
重ねられたテープ１１から成る空気透過性材料、例えば好ましくは疎水性又は液
体不透過性不
織材の鞘１１から成る。鞘１１は長さ方向の接着線又は溶着線１３によりシート
３へ取り付けられ、この線は股区域５の吸収性パッド２の縁に関して僅かに内側
に後退した位置でおむつの全長にわたり延びる（第２図参照）。
このようにしてカバーシート３へ取り付けられた各鞘１１は偏平状態でカバー
シート３上に配置され、固着線１３により画成される基縁から内方へ少なくとも
実質的に吸収性パッド２の幅の中央へ延び、二つの対向するフラップ１０の末縁
１４が互いに接触するか又は互いに非常に近づく。
第１長さ方向弾性部材１５は伸張状態で各フラップ１０の鞘１１の内側にフラ
ップの末縁１４近くに配置され、第２長さ方向弾性部材１６は伸張状態で鞘１１
に基縁１３の近傍に配置される。二つの各長さ方向弾性部材１５、１６はフラッ
プ１０の全長にわたり、従っておむつの全長にわたり延び且つ二つの長さ方向の
端でのみ鞘１１へ取り付けられ、一方この二つの端の間でスライド可能となるこ
とは注目されよう。
更に各フラップ１０の鞘１１はカバーシート３に偏平状態で、第３図に見られ
るように接着線１７によりおむつの対向する横方向縁の右面に取り付けられる。
最後に、二つの対向するフラップ１０はそれらの未縁１４でおむつの二つの対
向横方向縁から吸収性パッド２の二つの対向対応横方向縁まで、第１図及び第３
図で見られるように、例えば接着により固着用区域１８で結合される。
このように構成されたおむつが使用者により着用され、
曲線トラフ形状になると、弾性部材１５、１６は吸収性パッド２に対してフラッ
プ１０を持ち上げようとし、二つのフラップ１０の末縁１４を、第２図の波線で
示す如く、おむつの二つの横方向縁から股区域５の中央へ増加する程度まで離れ
させる。二つの対向するフラップ１０はこのように長さ方向の耐漏洩性バリヤを
形成し、二つの端区域６、７の相互接続の結果、またこれらの区域に深さが固着
区域１８の長さに依存する耐漏洩性ポケットを形成する。
第４図、第５図による実施例に於て、側部フラップ１０は、おむつの全長にわ
たり股区域５の吸収性パッド２の幅に実質的に等しい幅を覆うカバーシート３に
配置された単一ストリップ１９から成る。空気透過性材料、好ましくは疎水性又
は液体不透過性材料から作られるストリップ１９は、二つの長さ方向の接着線１
３及び第１図ないし第３図の実施例の線１７に対応する二つの横方向接着線によ
りカバーシート３へ取り付けられる。
長さの中央部分に於て、ストリップ１９は長さ方向中央スリット２０を含み、
このスリットの二つの縁は伸張状態でストリップ１９の対応縁に取り付けられた
長さ方向弾性部材１５で裏張りされている。しかしてこれは接着線１３により画
成された基縁を持つ二つのフラップ１０の弾性化された末縁を提供する。
おむつの二つの端区域６、７に於て、非スリットテープ１９はベルトポケット
を形成し、このポケットの深さは各端区域６、７のテープ１９の非スリット長さ
の関数である。
この実施例に於いても、おむつが使用者により着用され、曲線トラフ形状にな
ると、弾性部材１５はフラップ１０を持ち上げ、これらのフラップの未縁１４が
第５図の波線で示されるように股区域５に於て離れる。
第６図、第７図により、第４図、第５図のテープ１９の中央長さ方向スリット
２０は、その各端が、二つの端区域６、７と股区域５との結合部近傍で横方向ス
リット２１により延ばされ、しかして長さ方向中央スリットと共に二つの折り畳
みフラップ２２を画成し、このフラップは例えば第７図で見られるように、外方
に折り返し、例えば接着線２３により折り畳み状態で取り付けることができ、し
かして狭い鞘を形成し、この鞘内に長さ方向の弾性部材１５が伸張状態で末縁１
４の近くに取り付けられ、末縁１４は折り畳みフラップの折り返しの故に、第４
図、第５図の実施例に於けるよりも更に互いに離れる。第４図、第５図によるス
リット２０よりも幅広のスリット２４はそれ故に二つのフラップ１０の末縁１４
間に形成される。
おむつが使用者により着用され曲線トラフ形状になるとき、弾性部材２２はフ
ラップ１０を持ち上げるからフラップ１０の末縁１４が更に離れる。
第８図、第９図による実施例に於て、上記例によるのと同じ一般構造を有する
おむつか再び見られる（支持シート１、吸収性パッド２、カバーシート３、鼓形
状のシート１、３及びパッド２、股区域の長さ方向弾性部材８）。このおむつは
また二つの側部耐漏洩性フラップ１０を含むが、この場合このフラップ１０はお
むつの中央部分で長さ方向
中央スリット２５を含むカバーシート３の実際の材料から成る。二つの弾性部材
２６は伸張状態でスリット２５の二つの縁の外面に取り付けられ、おむつの二つ
の横方向端まで延びる。更に、液体透過性材料、例えば不織布から作られるテー
プ２７は、少なくとも股区域の吸収性パッド２と等しい長さにわたり吸収性パッ
ド２とカバーシート３との間の中央位置に於ておむつの全長にわたり配置される

フラップ１０の未縁２９はスリット２５により画成される。
第１０図、第１１図の実施例は第８図、第９図の実施例と次の点で異なる。即
ち、二つの側部フラップ１０の末縁２９を画成するためにカバーシート３に設け
た長さ方向中央スリット２５はここで細長い、好ましくは長方形の開口を画成す
る切取り部の形状であり、この開口の幅が吸収性パッド２の幅よりも明らかに小
さく、好ましくは股区域５のパッド２の幅の半分よりも小さい。更に、カバーシ
ート３はここでその全長にわたり二つの下向き（パッド２の方向へ）Ｚ字形二重
折り畳み部３０を含み、これらの折り畳み部は開口２５の両側に配置され、フラ
ップ１０の末縁２９に沿う弾性部材２６は伸張状態で二重折り畳み部３０の
上方又は下方の折り畳み部で接着により取り付けられ、各二重折り畳み部３０の

Ｚ字形以外の形状が二重折り畳み部３０に使用できることは自明である。例え
ば、二重折り畳み部３０はＳ字形を有してもよく、弾性部材２６はＳ字形二重折
り畳み部の上方又は下方の折り畳み部で前述の如く取り付けられる。
他方、開口２５の切取りにより生じる材料は、もし所望されるなら、接着によ
りテープ２７に取り付けるか又は直接に吸収性パッド２に取り付けてテープ２７
を形成するかどちらでもよい。
最後に、股区域５の吸収性パッド２の幅より僅かに大きい幅を有する液体透過
性テープ２７は、ここでは二つの長さ方向接着線又は溶着線２８によりカバーシ
ート３に取り付けられ、これらの線は股区域５のパッドの長さ方向縁の僅かに外
側に位置し、このことは横方向寸法、即ち接続線２８により画成される基縁を持
つフラップ１０の幅又は高さをそれだけ増加することになる。
図示且つ叙述した実施例は、例示としてのものであり、限定を暗示するもので
なく、多数の改変及び代替の形式が本発明の範囲内で可能であることは自明であ
る。
しかして、第１図ないし第３図の実施例に於て、管状の鞘１１を構成する代わ
りに、二つのフラップ１０は偏平テ
ープから成ることもでき、更にこれらのテープの末縁１４は僅かに重畳すること
ができ、またこのことは端区域６、７の末縁１４の組立を例えば単にこれらの縁
を重畳して接着又は溶着することにより簡単化することになろう。
第６図、第７図の実施例による二つのフラップ１０間により広いスリット２４
を設けることは、第８図、第９図の実施例でも、即ちフラップ１０がカバーシー
ト３の材料から成る場合でも可能である。
第１０図、第１１図によるカバーシート３の二重折り畳み部３０はまた第８図
、第９図の実施例にも採用でき、同類の二重折り畳み部は第４図、第５図、第６
図及び第７図の実施例のストリップ１９に長さ方向弾性部材１５を取り付けるた
めに設けることができる。
他の改変実施例によると、二つの側部フラップは、横方向に離間し吸収性パッ
ドとカバーシートとの上に配置された二つの平行する長さ方向鞘から成る。前記
フラップの弾性化された末縁を画成する内方長さ方向側部は、おむつの長さ方向
軸線に関して対称正弦波形状を有し、しかして細長い、長さ方向中央に配置され
た開口と、前記開口の長さ方向端からおむつの横方向縁まで共に取り付けられた
重畳する端部分とを形成する。しかして前記中央配置された開口は鞘の切取りを
する必要なく形成される。
図示且つ叙述した全ての実施例に於て、フラップ１０は有利には空気透過性の
材料から成るが、好ましくは疎水性又は液体不透過性材料、例えば疎水性不織布
又は耐漏洩性被覆を含む材料から成ることは注目されるべきである。実
際、液体不透過性バリヤはこのように得られ、吸収性パッドの全周囲にわたって
延び、使用者の脚のまわり、即ち股区域５と腰、即ち端区域６、７との両方で、
尿及び／又は糞便物の漏洩を効果的に無くすことが可能になる。
最後に、図示且つ叙述した全実施例に於て、おむつ及びその吸収性パッドは鼓
形であるが、本発明はまた例えば長方形吸収性パッドを有するおむつにも適用で
