(Prior Art) An artificial hip joint that has been conventionally used has a stem that is inserted and fixed in the femur. The tip of this stem is received in an acetabulum or an artificial acetabulum attached to the acetabulum and is rotated. The one provided with the artificial bone head is used. Some artificial bone heads attached to the tip of the stem in this way are integrally formed with a metal stem, but there are large and small differences in the acetabulum because there are individual differences in living bodies. It is necessary to use the size of the head ball that is the most suitable for the lid. Therefore, generally, the head and ball are formed as separate bodies, and an appropriate head and head is selected prior to the surgery, and the head is used after being fitted to the tip of the stem.

As a structure for connecting the head and ball, which are separate bodies, to the stem, for example, as shown in JP-A-51-67693,
As shown in FIG. 2, an artificial hip joint is often used in which a conical portion E is inserted into a conical hole C formed in a head ball K at the tip of a stem S to be fitted (joined).

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) When a separate epiphyseal ball is fitted to the tip of the stem as described above, the state in which the conical portion and the conical hole formed in the conical surface are in full contact Therefore, stress concentration occurs at the abutting portion, and there is a tendency that damage is likely to occur in the ceramic head ball.

Further, in the case where the conical portion E is formed with the thread-shaped groove M as disclosed in the above-mentioned publication in order to eliminate such inconvenience, a step of forming the thread-shaped groove M is required. Not only that, but it is difficult to disinfect and sterilize the inside of the groove M, and there is the inconvenience that once the head and ball have been connected, the head and head cannot be replaced with another one.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention is characterized in that the above-described slits are formed in the conical portion at the tip of the stem so that elastic deformation can be performed and a disinfection and sterilization medium can flow in.

(実施例) 以下、図により実施例を具体的に説明する。(Example) Hereinafter, an example will be specifically described with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 (a) shows a partial view of a stem 1 that constitutes an artificial hip joint according to the present invention. A conical portion 2 is formed at the tip of the stem 1, and a longitudinal slit 3 is formed in the conical portion 2. Has been formed.

It is preferable that the slit 3 is formed so as to have a depth reaching the axial center of the conical portion 2. However, the slit 3 is deeper than the axial center of the material of the stem 1 and, if necessary, the conical portion 2 in some cases.
It may be a slit that passes through in a diametrical direction so as to be divided into two semicircular shapes.

Further, as shown in FIG. 2B, a spiral (curved) slit 3 ′ may be formed in the conical portion 2.

The slits 3 and 3'can be formed in any width, but the optimum value is selected according to the connection state with the head ball, but the stem 1 is made of stainless steel. Shows a bonded state in which the slit width of 0.005 to 2.5 mm is good.

(Effect of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, since the slit is formed in the tip conical portion of the stem that is inserted into the conical hole formed in the condylar ball, the entire inner wall surface of the conical hole is Since they are connected in a state of abutting against each other, even if the head ball is made of ceramic, the risk of damage can be eliminated. Further, the work of fitting the epiphyseal ball to the stem becomes extremely easy.

Further, since a medium for disinfection and sterilization can be introduced through the slit, a safe and reliable artificial hip joint can be provided, which can sufficiently disinfect and sterilize the inside of the conical hole of the epiphyseal ball.
