Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely avoid a situation where a contact fitting is subjected to high load. CONSTITUTION:Wing members 30 and 30 made of sheet metals having bottom surface sections 35 which are soldered so as to be fixed to a mounted substrate, are installed two by two while being mutually separated onto support projected sections 15 and 16 which are formed at both side end sections of a main body section 10. By this constitution, even a space between these two wing sections 30 and 30 can be soldered, thereby the soldering area (Sx+Sy) of each wing member to the substrate can be made large as compared with that of the support projected section having a single wing section, as a result, solder peel strength can thereby be increased.

In the contact metal fitting 60, the contact metal fitting 60 in which the bent terminal portion 66 is not bent is pushed from the lower surface side of the insertion portion 52 with the contact piece portion 62 inside (center), By bending the terminal portion 66 in the direction opposite to the contact piece portion 62 by about 90 degrees, the bent terminal portion 66 becomes flush with the lower surface of the main body portion 50, and the electric connector 5 is placed on the wiring board 40. The bent terminal portion 66 comes into contact with the wiring pattern, and they are connected and fixed by soldering.

In the conventional electrical connector 5 as described above, the wing member 80 (bottom surface of the wing member 80) is used.
However, since the soldering area (Sz) cannot be so large for a large amount, the fixing strength (solder peeling strength) by soldering may be insufficient, and the wing member 80 may float from the substrate due to an external force. There is a possibility that a large load is applied to the contact fitting 60, which causes a problem such that it is removed from the wiring pattern.

In the electric connector according to the present invention having the above-mentioned structure, the two wing members are attached to the respective side end portions of the main body in a state of being separated from each other. Soldering can also be performed on the portion between the individual wing members, so that the soldering area of the wing member to the board, especially the longitudinal direction of the connector ( The soldering area in the lateral direction can be increased (doubled), and as a result, the solder peel strength can be increased, and a situation in which a large load is applied to the contact fitting can be reliably avoided.

Also, by attaching a single wing member having a bottom portion to be soldered to a mounting substrate divided into two and a gap formed between them, to each side end portion of the main body portion. Since the soldering area can be set to be as large as that described above, also in this case, substantially the same operational effects as those described above can be obtained.

In the electrical connector 1 of the present embodiment configured as described above, the two wing members 30, 30 are attached to the respective side end portions of the main body portion 10 in a state of being separated from each other. So there are two wing members 3
Soldering can also be performed on the part between 0 and 30,
Therefore, the soldering area (Sx + Sy) of the wing member to the substrate, especially the soldering area in the length direction (lateral direction) of the connector 1 is large (about twice as large as that of the one having only one wing member). As a result, the solder peel strength can be increased, and a situation in which a large load is applied to the contact fitting 20 can be reliably avoided.

In the above example, the two wing members are attached to the respective side end portions of the main body portion 10 in a state of being separated from each other, but instead of that, the respective side end portions of the main body portion are attached. Even if you attach a single wing member whose bottom part to be soldered to the mounting board is divided into two parts and a gap is formed between them, the soldering area should be as large as that described above. Since it is possible to obtain the same effect as described above.
