Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable noise at a location where the clearance between a cross-flow fan and a fan case is narrowed to be reduced by a method wherein a portion where the clearance between the fan case for a cross-flow fan and the cross-flow fan is narrowed most is made of porous sound absorbing material and an air layer is formed at a rear side of the porous sound absorbing material. CONSTITUTION: A fan case 20 for a cross-flow fan 7 is made of porous sound absorbing material, both sides of a recessed part 21 arranged at a rear surface of a part where the clearance between it and cross-flow fan 7 is narrowed most are formed to be contacted with a lower surface of an upper surface panel 3C of a casing 3 and an air layer 22 is formed by a spacing part. When the cross-flow fan 7 is rotated, noise is generated at a location where the clearance between the cross-flow fan 7 and the fan case 20 is narrowed most, although this noise is attenuated while it passes through many small holes of the porous sound absorbing material 20, the noise further enters the air layer 22 to expand and further attenuated. With such an arrangement as above, it is possible to reduce noise generated in a room.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been invented to solve the above problems. The gist of the present invention is to provide a suction port in the lower rear part of a housing suspended on the ceiling. In addition, an air outlet is provided in the front, an air flow path from the suction port to the air outlet is formed in the housing, and the heat exchanger is arranged in the air flow path with the intake port inclined so that the suction port side becomes higher. A cross flow fan that rotates around a horizontal axis is arranged on the downstream side, and the indoor air sucked from the suction port by this cross flow fan is cooled or heated by the heat exchanger, and then the air outlet is discharged. In a ceiling-suspended air conditioner that blows out from a room to a room, at least the portion of the cross case for the cross flow fan where the gap between the fan case and the cross flow fan is narrowest is made of a porous sound absorbing material. The porous the ceiling hanging type air conditioner which is characterized in that the back side of the sound absorbing material to form an air layer.
