Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a base woven fabric for pressure-sensitive tape excellent in hand breakableness without mesh deviation and inclined lamination by effecting the weaving operations using sized polyester multifilament yarns as warp through a water-jet loom and by heat-setting the woven fabric after the moisture is adjusted. CONSTITUTION: A polyester multifilament yarn of 75 deniers/36 filaments, produced by high-speed spin-draw taking-up process is drawn again with a draw- twister to decrease its elongation down less than 13%. The yarn is sized with a sizing agent of an acrylic ester in an amount of 1-3%. This treated yarn is used as a warp to produce a woven cloth and the moisture content is adjusted to 2.5-25% by means of a suction tube arranged on the water jet loom whereby the objective woven fabric is obtained. Then, the fabric is heattreated with a hot cylinder at a surface temperature of 50-80 deg.C for 2-4 minutes, heat-set to give a base woven fabric for a pressure-sensitive adhesive.

2. Description of the Related Art Adhesive tapes are often used as packaging materials and masking agents. Generally, an anchor coating agent is applied to a woven unwoven base fabric, which is then laminated with a polyethylene film, and then an adhesive agent. Is manufactured by the method of applying. Various fibers such as cellulose fibers, acrylic fibers, polyester fibers, and rayon spun yarns are used as the base fabric for adhesive tapes. It is important that the adhesive tape can be easily torn in the width direction when it is used and that the cut end is clean.

Up to now, the adhesive tape has been mainly made of a base cloth fabric using rayon spun yarn for both warp and weft yarns, but in recent years, a thin base cloth fabric for adhesive tape using both warp and weft yarns using long-fiber polyester has been proposed. There is. However, the base fabric fabric using long-fiber polyester has a smooth fiber surface and is likely to cause misalignment and skew. In the case where weft skew occurs, the warp length of the base fabric is partly different and slack occurs, so
The process performance of resin processing decreases when the adhesive tape is manufactured.

The warp used in the method for weaving the base fabric for pressure-sensitive adhesive tape of the present invention has a gluing ratio of 1 to 3%. When the glue is attached to the warp, the fiber surface is covered with the sizing agent, so that the coefficient of friction of the woven fabric texture point becomes higher than that in the case where the glue is not used for the warp, and the occurrence of misalignment is alleviated. Adhesion rate is 1%
In the following cases, the retention of the texture points of the warp and the weft in the pressure-bonding set by the cylinder is deteriorated, and the weft is apt to skew.

When the gluing rate is 3% or more, loosing of the gluing occurs in the weaving process to induce the loom operability and quality deterioration, or it is an adhesive with a polyethylene film in the adhesive tape manufacturing process. The effect of the anchor coating agent is reduced and the adhesiveness with the polyethylene film is deteriorated. In the method for producing a base fabric for an adhesive tape of the present invention, it is desirable that the sizing yarn is not subjected to after-oiling or after-waxing. When after-oiling or after-waxing is performed, the woven fabric may be misaligned during the production of the adhesive tape, and the adhesiveness between the base fabric and the resin may be affected.

In the method for producing a base fabric for an adhesive tape of the present invention, it is important that the moisture content is 2.5 to 25%,
A preferable moisture content is 3 to 18%. When the moisture content of the base fabric is 2.5% or less, the setting effect of the heating cylinder is reduced, and the weft is skewed. When the moisture content of the base fabric is 25% or more, the fabric is not sufficiently heated by the latent heat of vaporization and the set effect is reduced, so that a good quality base fabric cannot be obtained. When the temperature is raised, the fabric is deformed due to heat shrinkage, resulting in excessive consumption of energy.

The moisture content of the base fabric is adjusted by sucking the moisture of the fabric with a suction tube after weaving in a water jet loom, or similarly after sucking with the suction tube, the non-woven fabric is attached to the lower part of the winding roll. Adjust with a contact type hot plate heater. The surface temperature of the heating cylinder is 50 to 80 ° C., the contact time is 2 to 4 minutes,
It is preferably 60 to 75 ° C. and 2 to 3 minutes.

When the surface temperature of the cylinder is 50 ° C. or lower,
The setting effect of the base fabric is reduced, and the weft skew occurs.
On the other hand, when the surface temperature of the cylinder is 80 ° C. or higher, the base fabric is excessively heated by heat and shrinks, and the quality of the base fabric is deteriorated. With fixed heat setting with a heating cylinder on the loom, it is important to take measures so that the width of the base fabric does not change due to heat shrinkage when the loom is stopped.

If the contact time with the cylinder is short, the effect of the fixed heat setting is lowered, and if it is too long, the quality is deteriorated due to heat shrinkage. The cross-sectional shape of the cylinder is preferably circular,
It may be oval, rectangular, or the like. In the method for producing a base fabric for an adhesive tape of the present invention, heat setting and fixing may be performed not by using a loom, but after weaving, the moisture content may be separately adjusted, and heat set and fixed by a heating cylinder in another step.

Cover factor K of the base fabric of the present invention
Is preferably 500 to 1000. A more preferable cover factor is 800 to 850. When the cover factor of the base fabric is 500 or less, misalignment is likely to occur. On the other hand, when the cover factor is 1000 or more, the strength in the warp direction becomes too high and the hand tearing property of the adhesive tape deteriorates.

The cover factor K of the woven fabric is represented by the following formula. K = (warp denier) 0.5 × warp density (book / inch) + (weft denier) 0.5 × weft density (book / inch) The method for producing the base fabric for pressure-sensitive adhesive tape of the present invention represents the degree of weft skewing. A base fabric for an adhesive tape having a maximum value of the weft skewness D of 0.4 or less can be obtained, and the productivity can be remarkably enhanced during the production of the adhesive tape.
