Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable good recording high in resolving power by improving the, absorbability of a high b.p. solvent such as water or higher alcohol contained in aq. ink to suppress the spreading of the aq. ink by providing a surface layer containing hydroxypropyl cellulose as a resin component on a substrate. CONSTITUTION: An image receiving material for aq. ink being a resinous sheet for an overhead projector or drawing is obtained by providing a surface layer containing hydroxypropyl cellulose or crosslinked hydroxypropyl cellulose as a resin component on a substrate. This image receiving material for aq. ink can be repeatedly utilized by applying recording to the image receiving material using aq. ink and removing the recording by water. Hydroxypropyl cellulose is obtained, for example, by reacting propylene oxide with a hydroxyl group in cellulose and the amt. of the hydroxypropyl group added to cellulose is pref. set to 20-90%.

However, in a method such as using a highly water-absorbent resin or a water-soluble resin in the surface layer, mixing inorganic or organic particles to make it porous, or providing irregularities on the surface, practical methods are used. However, there is a problem in that the water-based ink tends to spread and the high-resolution image quality cannot be obtained.

Sheets for over head projectors, whose base material is a resin film, use a highly water-absorbent resin or water-soluble resin in the surface layer, or are mixed with inorganic or organic particles to form a porous layer. In general, it is expensive because it has to be made to have a good property or has unevenness on the surface, and further, when it is thrown away, dust that causes environmental damage is generated, so it is desirable to collect and recycle it, or reuse it. , Recycling technology has not been established yet.

In the present invention, the surface layer provided on the substrate preferably contains hydroxypropyl cellulose as a resin component, and when this hydroxypropyl cellulose is contained as a resin component, it is included in the aqueous ink. It has high absorptivity for both water, which is a solvent used, and high-boiling point solvents such as higher alcohols, and as a result, the absorption and diffusion of dyes in water-based inks is higher than the absorption and diffusion of solvents in water-based inks. It becomes slower, the spread of the water-based ink is suppressed, and good recording such as high resolution image quality can be performed.

Such hydroxypropyl cellulose may be combined with other components in order to improve various properties such as hardness, tackiness, fixability of dye and crosslinkability of the surface layer. Bonding is carried out, for example, by bonding a functional group such as epoxy, halogen, isocyanate, carboxylic acid, carboxylic acid anhydride, and acid chloride with a hydroxyl group in the cell to bond them, and by these reactions, Functional groups such as alkyls, double bonds, epoxies, isocyanates, carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids, phosphoric acids, amines, etc., or salts of those which form salts are introduced.

As the crosslinking agent, tannic acid, glyoxal, methylol melamine resin, urea formalin resin,
Polyisocyanate or the like is used, and it is crosslinked by reacting with the hydroxyl group of the hydroxypropyl group of hydroxypropyl cellulose. In addition, a crosslinkable functional group other than a hydroxyl group may be provided in hydroxypropyl cellulose, and these may be reacted with the functional group of the crosslinking agent or the functional group in hydroxypropyl cellulose. In order to allow the compound to be contained in hydroxypropyl cellulose, the other components may be bonded to hydroxypropyl cellulose as described above.

Further, when the hydroxypropyl cellulose is cross-linked, it has a characteristic that the surface layer does not dissolve even when immersed in water, and since hydroxypropyl cellulose has high hydrophilicity, The surface layer swells and water can penetrate into the surface layer. Therefore, if the recording material of the present invention is printed with a water-based ink for printing and then washed with water, it is possible to remove most of the water-based ink of the recorded printing without losing the surface layer. Can be recorded.

Therefore, the recording material of the present invention having the surface layer cross-linked with hydroxypropyl cellulose can be reused by removing the aqueous ink of the recorded print. At this time, the swelling ratio of the surface layer is preferably 1.5 times or more from the viewpoint of easy removal of the aqueous ink, and the gel fraction of 50% or more is practically preferred from the viewpoint of printing performance after the second printing. .

Such an inorganic or organic filler exerts a remarkable effect on the absorbability of the aqueous ink when the fine particles having a short diameter of 1 μm or less are used. Typical examples include colloidal silica, silica sol, alumina sol and the like. Further, absorptivity of high boiling point alcohol other than water contained in the water-based ink is particularly excellent when mixed with silica fine particles, and water absorption is often particularly excellent when mixed with alumina fine particles. It is effective that the upper part of the surface layer mainly contains silica fine particles and the lower part mainly contains alumina fine particles. Further, those having a short diameter of 1 μm or more are effective in preventing interlayer adhesion and ink transfer, and these may be used alone or in combination as required.

As is clear from Table 1 above, each recording material (Examples 1 and 2) obtained by the present invention is a sheet for a conventional over head projector (Comparative Example 1). In comparison with the above, the dot size is smaller and it can be reused repeatedly. Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a recording material having a small dot size, suitable for water-based ink, and reusable. I know that I can do it.
