これらの事情に鑑み、ナカジロシタバの性誘引物質の研
究を行い、ナカジロシタバの処女雌から雄に対する誘引
活性を有する成分を抽出しその化学構造を決定した。さ
らに化学的に合成した化合物により、これがナカジロシ
タバに対して有効な誘引作用を示すことを知った。本発
明はこれらの知見に基づいて完成されたものである。本
発明の誘引剤の有効成分は、3,6,9−ヘンエイコサ
トリエンであり、3個の二重結合は全てシス配位である
ので、即ち(Z,Z,Z)−3,6,9−ヘンエイコサ
トリエンである。
