Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a platinum catalyst member having extremely high impact resistance and reduced in production cost price to a large extent. CONSTITUTION: A platinum catalyst member 4 for a combustion instrument is obtained by using a platinum alloy wire 5 having a diameter of 0.16-0.30mm and containing 20-40wt.% of one platinum group element selected from among Rh, Ir and Pd excepting Pt. By this constitution, the cost price of the platinum alloy wire 5 can be reduced and, as a result, the production cost price of the platinum catalyst member 4 can be reduced. Since the platinum alloy wire 5 having high bending rigidity is used in the platinum catalyst member 4, the impact resistance of the platinum catalyst member can be extremely enhanced.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a platinum catalyst member of this type has a frame body having a hollow portion and a platinum wire or a platinum alloy wire (hereinafter referred to as platinum wire) bulged plural times and wound around the frame body. There are those sandwiched between supports, or those in which a platinum wire or the like is wound in a coil shape and both ends of the platinum wire or the like are held by a ring. However, the platinum wire has a diameter of 0.12 to 0.1.
5 mm and the composition is 100 wt% Pt or R in Pt
It contains platinum group elements such as h, Ir and Pd. Here, the platinum group elements such as Rh, Ir, and Pd other than Pt are preferably contained in the Pt alloy wire in an amount of 10 wt% or more from the viewpoint of impact resistance against falling of a burning instrument. However, with such a content, the catalytic reaction is remarkably reduced, and the platinum catalytic member cannot sufficiently function. Therefore, the upper limit of the content has been conventionally set to 10 wt% or less in consideration of the catalytic reaction.

Problems of the Prior Art The problems caused by the fact that the platinum wire or the like used in the platinum catalyst member is 100 wt% Pt or the platinum alloy wire are as follows. Ie 1
In the case of a platinum wire composed of 00 wt% Pt, since extremely expensive Pt is used 100%, the manufacturing cost of the platinum catalyst member becomes extremely high and the impact resistance is greatly deteriorated. . In addition, at least 90 wt% of the platinum alloy wire contains extremely expensive Pt, so that it is not inferior to 100 wt% Pt, the manufacturing cost is not lower, and the impact resistance is not sufficient. That is not the case. Therefore, in order to reduce the manufacturing cost of platinum catalyst members, measures have been taken to reduce the amount of platinum used, which occupies an extremely high ratio in the cost structure. However, there is a limit to the reduction from the viewpoint of ensuring the minimum necessary catalytic reaction, so further reduction of the manufacturing cost of platinum catalyst members was in a deadlock.

As described above, it is difficult to make the platinum alloy wire 5 contain 10 wt% or more of platinum group elements such as Rh other than Pt in view of harmony with the catalytic reaction, and it cannot be used at all. Regardless of the idea, the reason for adopting a configuration that breaks the idea is as follows. That is, it is the platinum alloy wire 5 that causes the catalytic reaction in the platinum catalyst member 4.
The larger the surface area, the more significant the catalytic reaction becomes. In the present invention, the content of the platinum group element other than Pt can be greatly increased because the catalytic reaction which is remarkably reduced by setting the content of the platinum group element other than Pt to 10 wt% or more As is well known, the so-called bullion price is 40% or less of Pt among platinum group elements except Pt, which is compensated by increasing the surface area of the platinum alloy wire 5. Therefore, if the content of the platinum group element, which is lower in price than Pt, is increased, the cost of the platinum base metal wire will be greatly reduced. Therefore, even if the diameter of the platinum alloy wire is increased and the amount of the platinum alloy wire is increased, the cost of the platinum alloy wire itself is the diameter of the wire of the present invention and the platinum alloy wire content except for Pt. As long as this is the case, the manufacturing cost of the platinum catalyst member will also decrease.

The platinum catalyst member 4 using the platinum alloy wire 5 having the above-mentioned structure of the present invention is attached to the crater of the burner 1 such as a gas lighter, and is ejected from the nozzle 2 disposed below the burner. If the catalytic reaction per unit area of the platinum alloy wire 5 is not sufficient when exposed to the combustion flame 3 composed of a mixed gas of gas and air, the catalyst can be obtained by enlarging the diameter of the platinum alloy wire and increasing its surface area. The combustion flame 3 contacting the platinum alloy wire 5 due to the reinforcement of the reaction is pulled up to a high combustion activation state at least equivalent to the conventional one by the catalytic action of platinum,
In response to this, the combustion becomes instantaneous and complete.

EXAMPLES Next, an example of the present invention will be described. Platinum alloy wire 5 has a wire diameter of 0.16 mm or more and 0.20 mm
In the following, a platinum alloy wire having an Ir content of 25 wt% or more and 35 wt% or less is wound 5 times in a coil shape having a winding outer diameter of 2.0 mm, and is gripped by a ring 6, and a similarly formed wire diameter is 0. It exhibits a catalytic reaction almost equal to that of a platinum catalyst member using a platinum alloy wire of 0.15 mm and an Ir content of 10 wt% or less, and shows a remarkably high value in impact resistance. This is because the platinum alloy wire 5 according to this embodiment has a high bending rigidity similar to that of the spring steel wire material.

The first effect of the present invention is that the platinum alloy wire 5 is used in an increased amount, but the platinum group element, which is cheaper than Pt, is contained in the platinum alloy wire 5 up to the limit at which it can be made into a wire rod. On the contrary, the cost of the wire itself could be reduced by 20% or more. In response to this cost reduction effect, the manufacturing cost of the platinum catalyst member itself can be linked to achieve a reduction of 15% or more.

The second effect is that the platinum alloy wire 5 used in the platinum catalyst member 4 of the present invention has a high bending rigidity similar to that of the spring steel wire rod as described above, so that the platinum caused by the dropping of the combustion appliance 1 or the like. The impact resistance of the catalyst member is improved at least twice as compared with the conventional one.
