Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the stable high-speed access of a carriage by adopting a structure which lessens the generation of sliding resistance and vibration as a guiding member of the carriage mounted with an optical head. CONSTITUTION: A guide shaft 2 constituting a carriage transporting structure 1 has a hollow shape 3 and a volatile oil 4 having a low viscosity is sealed within this hollow shape 3. This volatile oil 4 is bled out of the capillary-like holes 13 conducted to the hollow shape 3 of the guide shaft 2 by the negative pressure generated between the carriage 6 and the guide shaft 2, by which the parts of the carriage 6 between bearings 7, 8 and the guide shaft 2 are lubricated. Then, the volatile oil 4 does not bleed out if the device is not used and, therefore, the lubricant is adjusted to a proper amt. and the stable access of the carriage 6 is made possible.

2. Description of the Related Art A conventional carriage transfer structure is disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 5-314498 and 5-074068.
As disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 1-320683 and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 1-320683, a porous member impregnated with a carbon-containing synthetic resin, an oil-containing resin, and a viscous material (silicon grease, fluorine-based lubricant, magnetic fluid) is used as a bearing of a carriage. Some of the guide shafts have a lubricant impregnated and baked as the guide shafts, and some of the guide shafts rotate the guide shafts, for example, as disclosed in JP-A-5-274821.

In these conventional carriage transport structures, for example, when carbon-containing synthetic resin is used as the bearing of the carriage, abrasion powder of the resin acts as a cohesive action and a secondary obstacle occurs, and If the carbon is not well dispersed in the resin, the lubricating effect may be significantly impaired.

Further, when a porous member impregnated with a viscous substance such as oil is used, the adhesion of abrasion powder, the instability of the amount of the viscous substance oozing out from the porous member, and even when the apparatus is not used There is a problem such as a cohesive action, which is caused by the possibility that the viscous body may ooze out from the porous member.

Further, in the method of rotating the guide shaft to bring the sliding friction between the carriage and the guide shaft into a dynamic friction state to reduce the frictional force, the structure is complicated and expensive, and the device is large and heavy and consumes electric power. There were many problems.

The guide shaft 2 constituting the carriage conveying structure 1 has a hollow shape 3, and a volatile oil 4 having a low viscosity is enclosed in the hollow shape 3. Further, a plurality of grooves 11 are provided in the moving direction 10 of the carriage 6 on the outer diameter surface 9 that contacts the bearings 7 and 8 of the carriage 6 on which the optical head 5 is mounted. On the surface 12 of the radial surface 9, there are formed a plurality of capillary holes 13 which are electrically connected to the inside of the hollow shape 3.

When the carriage 6 is moved by being guided by the guide shaft 2, the volatile oil 4 filled in the capillary holes 8 in contact with the bearings 7, 8 of the carriage 6 is transferred to the bearings 7, 8 of the carriage 6. 8 caused by the relative speed between the guide shaft 2 and the guide shaft 2, the negative pressure near the surface 12 of the capillary hole 13 exudes into the gap 14 between the bearings 7, 8 of the carriage 6 and the surface 12 of the guide shaft 2. The volatile oil that oozes out lubricates between the bearings 7 and 8 and the guide shaft 2.

Therefore, the carriage 6 is guided by the guide shaft 2.
Since the hole diameter of the capillary hole 13 is very small at the portion of the guide shaft 2 where the bearings 7 and 8 are not in contact with each other, the volatile oil 4 from the capillary hole 13 does not move. Bleeding will be very small.

As described above, in the carriage transport structure of the optical disk device according to the present invention, when the relative speed is generated between the carriage and the guide shaft, the volatile oil oozes out from the capillary hole of the guide shaft. This prevents the lubricant from oozing out when the device is not in use. Moreover, since the diameter of the capillary holes and the viscosity of the volatile oil can be controlled so that the volatile oil does not ooze out excessively even during use of the device, it is possible to prevent an increase in running resistance and an adhesion action due to the viscosity of the lubricant, It is possible to move the carriage stably.
