2. Description of the Related Art Generally, an electric stapler of this type has a sheet-like staple formed by connecting straight staples in a sheet-like form as shown in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 4-129679 as a forming plate and a driver plate. The stapled sheets are sent out to a predetermined position below and formed into a U-shape by a forming plate, and then the formed staple needles are ejected by a driver plate to bind the sheets to be bound.

By the way, there is a feed mechanism that feeds the sheet-shaped staples to a predetermined position so as to operate in conjunction with the driving of the forming plate and the driver plate. In this case, for example, when the sheet staples are removed from the stapler by a process such as spelling failure, the sheet staples must be fed to a predetermined position by performing a blanking operation several times until a state where the actual staple can be performed.

However, since the number of idle operations differs depending on the position of the next formed staple or sheet-like staple and the individual difference of the stapler, for example, an electric stapler which automatically staples a sheet of paper copied in a copying machine cannot be stapled. There is a problem that a booklet is generated or staples remain on the clincher. Also, there is a clincher side that is equipped with a mechanism that allows you to check the actual hitting state.
Since the idle operation is performed on the paper to be bound, there is a problem that a trace of several idle operations remains on the paper.

At the front of the magazine 3, a forming plate 6 and a driver plate 7 are held in a superposed state on a holder (not shown). A drive link 9 is rotatably provided on the support shaft 8 of the frame 1. The front end of the drive link 9 is engaged with the holder, and the roller 10 at the rear end is engaged with the groove cam 2. As a result, when the grooved cam 2 is rotated by the electric motor, the drive link 9 is reciprocally rotated and the forming plate 6 is rotated.
And the driver plate 7 are driven in the vertical direction, and at the same time, the magazine 3 also follows this and moves in the same direction.

The magazine 3 has sheet-like staples 11 formed by connecting straight staples in a sheet shape.
A cartridge 12 accommodating (in the same manner as that disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 4-129679) is arranged in multiple stages. Further, an outlet (not shown) for the sheet-shaped staple 11 is formed at the lower end of the front wall of the cartridge 12,
The sheet-like staple 11 is configured to be fed from the outlet to the forming / pushing portion 17 below the forming plate 6 and the driver plate 7 along the staple guide 13 in order from the bottommost one.

Next, the feeding means for feeding the sheet-like staples 11 comprises a feed roller 18 provided under the staple guide, a pinion gear 19 meshing with the feed roller 18 and a rack 20 meshing with the pinion gear 19. It is configured. The feed roller 18 and the pinion gear 19 are arranged in the magazine 3, and the rack 20 is formed in the frame 1. Therefore, when the magazine 3 is driven upward together with the two plates 6 and 7, as shown in FIG. 2, the pinion gear 19 is interlocked with the rack 20 as shown in FIG.
The feed roller 18 meshing with the pinion gear 19 rotates at the same time. Since the feed roller 18 is in contact with the lower surface of the lowermost sheet-like staple 11 of the cartridge 12, the sheet-like staple 11 is drawn out from the outlet of the cartridge 12 by the rotation of the feed roller 18 and is formed along the staple guide. First of all, the driving section 17 is sent to the front molding section.

When the magazine 3 moves downward, the pinion gear 19 disengages from the rack 20 before reaching the moving end, and again engages with the rack 20 when moving upward, but re-engagement is easy. Rack 2 as done
The lower portion 20a of 0 is formed so that the tooth crests gradually become smaller. When the magazine 3 moves downward, the pinion gear 19 meshes with the rack 20 and rotates in the reverse direction.
The feed roller 18 is configured by a clutch mechanism so as not to rotate in the reverse direction.

An anvil 21 is disposed below the forming plate 6 in the forming section 17, and when the forming plate 6 is driven downward, as shown in FIG. 3 (a), the frontmost staple needle 11a on the anvil 21 is removed. Both sides are pushed in to form a U shape. Formed staple 11
When the forming plate 6 is driven upward, a is sent to a lower driving portion of the driver plate 7 by a pusher (not shown), and when the driver plate 7 is driven downward as shown in FIG. 11a is punched out, penetrates the paper 22 to be bound on the binding table 4, and is bent by the clincher 5 to complete the binding.

As described above, since the interval of about 1/2 of the length of the sheet-shaped staple 11 is formed between the staple outlet of the cartridge 12 and the forming / driving portion 17, the first sheet-like shape is formed. After the staple 11 has been pulled out from the outlet, the staple 3a at the foremost portion reaches the forming portion only after the magazine 3 repeatedly moves up and down several times.

Next, in the front part of the magazine 3, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 (a), the staple needle 1 at the frontmost part of the sheet-like staple 11 sent by the feeding means is shown.
After the 1a is molded, a detecting means 23 for detecting that it has been sent to the lower side of the driver plate 7 is provided, which constitutes an automatic binding preparation mechanism. The detection means 23 comprises an operating piece 24 and a sensor 25 for detecting the displacement of the operating piece 24. The operating piece 24 is rotatably supported by a support shaft 27 provided in the left and right direction on the front wall of the magazine 3 so as to be rotatable forward and backward by a compression spring 28 so that the upper side is always inclined forward and the lower end rear surface 24 a is below the driver plate 7. It is urged to be located in the driving portion 17 of the. The sensor 25 may be a photo sensor, but may be another sensor as long as it can detect the displacement of the operating piece 24, or may be a micro switch. In addition, the electric motor is configured to stop when the groove cam 2 returns to the initial position based on the detection signal from the sensor 25.

According to the above-mentioned structure, the groove cam 2 is rotated to continuously drive the forming plate 6 and the driver plate 7 in an idle state, and the magazine 3 is continuously moved up and down as shown in FIG. 5 (b). When the sheet-shaped staple 11 is sent to the forming unit by the feed roller 18 and the frontmost staple needle 11a is formed into a U shape at the forming unit and further sent to the driving unit 17, the lower end rear surface 24a of the operating piece 24 is moved. The compression spring 28 is pushed by the formed staple needle 11a.
The photo sensor 25 detects the displacement of the actuating piece 24 and the electric motor is stopped because the upper end 24b moves rearward against the rotation. At this time, the forming plate 6 and the driver plate 7 are also in the initial state, and the preparation for spelling is completed. Therefore, the spelling can be executed after this.

According to the spelling preparation mechanism described above, the splicing preparation mechanism automatically operates the necessary number of times until the actual striking state is achieved.
At this preparatory stage, it is sufficient to wait without setting the sheets to be bound on the binding table. Therefore, there is no possibility that a trace of the blank ejection operation remains on the paper to be bound. In addition, there is no inconvenience that an unstitched booklet is generated or staples remain on the clincher.
