Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a hair cosmetic containing cationic and nonionic surfactants, a polyaspartic acid and a higher alcohol, having excellent set- retaining power, giving good feeling to the hair and having excellent storage stability of the product. CONSTITUTION: This hair cosmetic contains (A) 0.05-5wt.% of a cationic surfactant (e.g. cocoyltrimethylammonium chloride), (B) 0.05-20wt.% of a nonionic surfactant (e.g. glyceryl monostearate), (C) 0.05-10wt.% of a polyaspartic acid or its salt and (D) 0.5-20wt.% of a higher alcohol (e.g. stearyl alcohol) as active components. The ratio of A/C is preferably 1/5 to 5/1 to get excellent setting power and feeling. The composition is properly compounded with other conventional cosmetic components and prepared in the form of liquid, paste, gel, etc., by conventional method.
