Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a clothes-drying machine which is capable of eliminating the stirring defect, if any, of materials to be dried, shortening the drying time and eliminating unequal drying or stopping the operation and informing a user of this extent. CONSTITUTION: This clothes-drying machine is provided with temp. detectors 20, 21 on the inner side of a drum 2 near the central part of an air outflow port of this drum 2 and in the peripheral part of a drum-supporting plate 6. A controller judges the occurrence of the stirring defect when the temp. difference between the air temps. detected by the temp. detectors 20 and 21 keeps attaining a prescribed value or above continuously for the prescribed period of time. This controller, then, decreases the number of revolutions of the drum 2, thereby allowing the materials 8 to be dried to fall from the drum 2 for easier stirring. The controller judges the elimination of the stirring defect when the temp. difference between the air temps. detected by the temp. detectors 20 and 21 keeps attaining the prescribed value or below continuously for the prescribed period of time. The controller, then, returns the number of revolutions of the drum 2 to the original optimum number of revolutions. The controller, otherwise, automatically stops the operation when the controller judges the occurrence of the stirring defect. The controller, then, displays this extent on a display 22 and informs the user of this extent.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventional drum type clothes dryers include an exhaust type clothes dryer and a dehumidifying type clothes dryer. First, an exhaust type clothes dryer will be described with reference to FIG. As shown in the figure, the exhaust type clothes dryer mainly comprises a drum 2 rotatably provided in the main body 1, a heater 3 as a heat source, and a fan 4 for introducing hot air into the drum 2 from the heater 3. The drum 2 is rotatably supported by bearings 5 and a drum support plate 6 provided on the rear side and the front side of the main body 1, respectively. Further, the motor 7 provided below the main body 1 drives the drum belt 10 and the fan belt 11 to rotate the drum 2 and the fan 4. The hot air taken in from the outside of the main body 1 by the rotation of the fan 4 and passed through the heater 3 is introduced into the drum 2 and exchanges heat when passing through the article 8 to be dried and takes out moisture from the article 8 to be dried. After that, the gas is exhausted from the duct 9 to the outside of the main body 1.

Next, a dehumidifying type clothes dryer will be described with reference to FIG. The same components as those of the exhaust type clothes dryer described above are designated by the same reference numerals. In the case of the dehumidification type clothes dryer, when the motor 7 drives the fan belt 11, the fan 13 rotates and the air discharged from the drum 2 is supplied to the fan case 1.
4 and is sent to the heater 3 through the duct 15 where it becomes hot air and is again introduced into the drum 2. That is, the fan 13, which also has the functions of the heater 3, the drum 2, and the heat exchanger, forms a closed circuit by the duct 15, and the air circulates in the closed circuit. During this hot air circulation cycle, the hot air that has heated the material 8 to be dried in the drum 2 and deprived of moisture contacts the inner wall of the fan 13 on the drum 2 side. At the same time, the outside air also touches the wall of the fan 13 on the outside air side, and heat is exchanged between the air on both sides of the fan 13. At this time, the water droplets condensed by cooling the hot air and blown away by the rotation of the fan 13 are drained from the drain port 16 provided in the fan case 14. By repeating such a cycle, the material to be dried 8 in the drum 2 is dehumidified and dried.

The behavior of the material 8 to be dried in the drum 2 in the exhaust type clothes dryer and the dehumidification type clothes dryer described above can be commonly handled. That is, as shown in FIG. 10, when the drum 2 rotates at the angular velocity ω, the material 8 to be dried is lifted by the baffle 12 provided in the drum 2, and normally, when it reaches a certain position in the first quadrant, the material 8 is removed from the baffle 12. It falls off and falls. Here, considering the moment when the object to be dried 8 deviates from the baffle 12, a centrifugal force F (= mr 1 ω 2 where m is the mass of the object to be dried 8 and r 1 is the object to be dried) at the center of gravity G of the object to be dried 8. The distance of the center of gravity G of the dried product 8 from the rotation center of the drum 2) and the gravity N act. In order for the material to be dried 8 to be agitated and dried, it is desirable that the material to be dried 8 falls at this position. For that purpose, the vertical component F of the centrifugal force is required.
sin θ 11 indicates the rotation angle of the center of gravity G of the object to be dried 8 from the horizontal direction at the position where the object to be dried 8 deviates from the baffle 12 in the first quadrant) is smaller than the gravity N (Fsi
1 <N). That is, mr 1 ω 2 sin θ 1 <mg (g indicates the acceleration of gravity), and therefore r 1 sin θ 1 <g / ω 2 (1) (however, the object to be dried 8 and the drum must be The frictional force generated between the two inner walls shall be ignored).

Here, when adverse conditions overlap with the type and condition of the material to be dried 8, the material to be dried 8 is subjected to centrifugal force F in the drying process.
Moves to the outer peripheral direction of the drum 2 to increase r 1 ,
In some cases, the inequality (1) may not hold at the position where the material to be dried 8 deviates from the baffle 12. In such cases,
A phenomenon in which the material to be dried 8 is pushed to the outer peripheral portion of the drum 2 and becomes in a locked state, and the central portion becomes a hollow and rotates (hereinafter,
Called the donut phenomenon) occurs. When the donut phenomenon occurs, the material to be dried 8 is not stirred, and there arises a problem that the drying time becomes long and the drying unevenness becomes remarkable.

Regarding the above problems, Japanese Patent Publication No. 4-54475.
In the publication, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, a protrusion 17 having a substantially rectangular cross-section having an inclination with respect to the vertical direction is provided above the drum support plate 6, and the inclination of the protrusion 17 corresponds to that of the drum 2. By setting the inner peripheral end side so as to be positioned in the direction of retracting with respect to the rotation direction, the object to be dried 8 is projected onto the projection 1
It is disclosed that the device is dropped by the reaction force of 7.

Further, in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 1-119298, as shown in FIG. 9, in a dehumidifying type clothes dryer, the temperature of the drum outlet air T o by the temperature sensor 18 and the temperature of the heater inlet air temperature T i by the temperature sensor 19 are Temperature difference To-
The stirring state of the material to be dried 8 is determined by detecting T i, and when it is determined that the material to be dried 8 is not stirred, the rotation speed of the drum 2 is reduced to weaken the centrifugal force acting on the material to be dried 8 A structure is disclosed in which the object 8 is easily dropped by gravity when the object 8 moves to the upper part of the drum 2.

However, in the structure disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 4-54475, the protrusion 17 must be attached to the drum support plate 6 in a cantilever manner, and therefore, for the reason of strength, the protrusion of the drum 2 cannot be improved. It cannot be set long in the direction of the rotation axis. On the other hand, since the drum 2 has a depth, when the material to be dried 8 is biased to the side without the protrusion 17 in the drum 2, the material to be dried 8 does not contact the protrusion 17 and is not stirred, and the donut phenomenon is not eliminated. .

[0009] The configuration disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 1-119298, for dehumidifying-type clothes dryer, donut phenomenon by detecting the temperature difference between the drum outlet air temperature T o and the heater inlet air temperature T i Although it is determined to occur,
The temperature difference T o -T i is stirred state of the dry matter 8 in the drum 2 has a property that varies with the ambient atmosphere temperature be the same. That is, the temperature difference T o −T i tends to decrease as the ambient temperature increases. Therefore, for example, if the ambient temperature changes depending on the season,
It becomes necessary to correct the temperature difference (T o −T i ) which is the condition for detecting the donut phenomenon, and the control becomes complicated. Further, in the state without correction, if the donut phenomenon detection temperature difference (T o −T i ) that is appropriate when the ambient temperature is high is set, the agitated state of the object to be dried 8 becomes good when the ambient temperature becomes low. Even if there is a donut phenomenon, it may be determined that the donut phenomenon has occurred. Conversely, if the donut phenomenon detection temperature difference (T o −T i ) that is appropriate when the ambient atmosphere temperature is low is set, when the ambient temperature is high Even if the donut phenomenon occurs, it may not be detected, and there is a risk of malfunction. Incidentally, in the case of applying the determined configuration generation donut phenomenon exhaust type clothes dryer by detecting the temperature difference T o -T i of the drum outlet air temperature T o and the heater inlet air temperature T i is Since the temperature difference T o −T i is more affected by the ambient temperature, the above-mentioned problem becomes more prominent.

In FIG. 3, the temperature T 1 or T 2 indicated by the temperature detector 20 or 21 when the material to be dried 8 is sufficiently stirred
Shows the change over time. If the material 8 to be dried is sufficiently agitated, the air in the drum 2 has a substantially uniform temperature. Therefore, the temperatures T 1 and T 2 have almost the same value. In this case, the temperature T 1 or T 2 is such that the preheating period (A) in which the temperature of the dryer main body 1 and the article to be dried 8 rises, the moisture evaporation energy of the article to be dried 8 and the heating energy by the heater 3 are balanced. If the operation is continued with the rotation speed of the drum 2 set low, the centrifugal force applied to the material to be dried 8 will be reduced and the material to be dried 8 will be agitated in the drum 2 and the inside of the drum 2 will be agitated. The temperature difference between the center air temperature and the peripheral air temperature T 1 -T 2 decreases. The control device 24 controls the temperature difference T
When 1- T 2 continues for a predetermined time t 2 and becomes equal to or less than a predetermined temperature difference ΔT S necessary and sufficient to recognize that the donut phenomenon is resolved (step # 40), the rotation speed of the drum 2 is returned to the original optimum rotation speed. The motor 7 is controlled in the returning direction (step # 5
0). After that, the process returns to step # 20, and when the donut phenomenon occurs again, the above operation is repeated.
