2. Description of the Related Art Engraving on a plastic sheet,
Sheets expressing patterns and the like are well known and are used as a card to prove their identity, and in some cases, they are also used for passports. However, these sculptures are visually recognizable by reflected light, and there is a problem that tampering is hard to find. Various items have been proposed in order to compensate for such problems, but none have been sufficiently satisfied.

The present invention has been made for the purpose of solving the above-mentioned problems, and the constitution is such that in a paper comprising a support layer and an engraving layer, the opacity of the support layer is 70 % Or less, the opacity of the engraving layer is 40% or more, the opacity of the support layer is always lower than the opacity of the engraving layer, and the difference in opacity between the support layer and the engraving layer is 30% or more. The engraving layer to the support layer are engraved.

That is, in order to achieve the above object, the present invention has revealed that, when an engraving layer is provided on a support layer to form an openwork paper, the opacity of the support layer is 70%.
Below, the opacity of the engraving layer is 40% or more, the opacity of the support layer is always lower than the opacity of the engraving layer, and the difference in opacity between the two layers is 30% or more. It was found that a clear engraved image can be obtained by transmitted light if engraving is performed on the body layer, and the present invention has been completed. It is different from each color between the support layer and the engraving layer. Alternatively, a plurality of colored layers may be provided, a back surface layer or a back surface layer and a tint block layer may be provided on the back surface of the support layer, or a tint block layer may be provided between the surface of the support and the engraving layer or the colored layer.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail. As the support layer, an appropriate plastic sheet such as polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, vinyl chloride or the like which is generally used is used. However, white polyester films, polypropylene films and the like are not preferable because they have high opacity. Further, since the support layer is also engraved, a material having a good engraving property such as polyester film is preferable. If the material is too soft, cutting powder during engraving will stick to and remain on the image, making it impossible to remove it.
On the other hand, if the material is brittle, the image after engraving will be missing,
The storability may deteriorate. The thickness is variously selected according to the application, but in the case of a passport, it is preferably 50 to 200 μm, and more preferably 75 to 150 μm.

The engraving layer is formed by applying a coating solution consisting of a binder and a filler by means usually used and drying it. Further, a wetting agent, a viscosity adjusting agent or the like may be mixed in the coating liquid for easy coating, and an antistatic agent or the like may be mixed. The thickness of this engraving layer is 3-25 μm,
It is preferably 7 to 12 μm.

The binder used in the engraving layer is particularly limited as long as it has good adhesion to the support layer and, if an undercoat layer is used, to the undercoat layer. There is no such thing. When the support layer is a polyester film, polyester or the like is preferable. However,
For storage after engraving, a resin having good scratch resistance, such as polyester or polyurethane, is preferable.

On the other hand, the filler used for the engraving layer may be any filler as long as it gives opacity, and examples thereof include titanium oxide, calcium carbonate, silica, and the like. Further, it is preferable to add opacity with a small amount of addition, and titanium oxide is particularly preferable. Further, titanium oxide which is previously dispersed in water can also be used.

The undercoat layer may or may not be provided, but when provided, it is selected from binders and the like having good adhesion to both the support and the engraving layer. The undercoat layer may be transparent or opaque, but opaque may be preferable in order to give fine gradation to the image. This helps to increase opacity. The purpose of this undercoat layer is to improve the adhesion of the engraving layer, and for the purpose of preventing forgery, the undercoat layer may be a colored layer, and the number of layers is plural. May be. In this case, if the colored layer is made to have a different color from that of the support layer and the engraving layer, it is possible to make it difficult to be tampered with. Further, it is possible to add a tint block pattern as an undercoat layer to prevent forgery. The thickness of the undercoat layer depends on the total thickness of the engraving layer,
The thickness is about 10 μm, and the forming method includes a commonly used coating method and gravure printing method.

A back surface layer may be provided on the back surface of the support. The purpose of providing the back surface layer is to improve printability and printability, and it is not necessary to provide the back surface layer when it is not necessary. For this back surface layer, it is desirable to use a binder having good adhesion to the support. When the support is polyethylene terephthalate, polyester is used. On the other hand, when the support is polypropylene, chlorinated polypropylene is used. preferable. Further, the back layer has a thickness of 1 to 15 μm, and the filler is preferably fine powder silica having low opacity and good printability.

In the present invention, the opacity of the support layer means the opacity combined with the back layer when there is a back layer, and the opacity of the engraving layer when there is an undercoat layer. It refers to the opacity of the combined undercoat layer.

As described above, the openwork paper of the present invention is directly or on the surface of the support layer or one or more underlayers.
It is configured by providing an engraving layer with a coat layer interposed, but for providing a back surface layer on the back surface of the support layer or preventing tampering in order to impart printing or printability. By printing a tint block pattern on the back surface or the front surface of the support layer, it is possible to obtain a watermark engraving paper according to the purpose.

Next, a configuration example of the watermark engraving paper of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is an enlarged cross-sectional view showing an example of a watermark engraving paper in which a back surface layer 2 is provided on the back surface of a support layer 1, and an engraving layer 4 is also provided on the front surface via an undercoat layer 3.
As shown in FIG. 2, the watermark engraving paper thus configured engraves the image portion 5, engraves the back shadow portions 6 and 6 up to the support layer 1 on both sides thereof, and transmits the transmitted light from the back surface. , The shadow is clear and the image is clearly visible. Further, FIG. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of an openwork paper in which three colored undercoat layers 3 are formed on the surface of the support layer 1 and an engraving layer 4 is provided thereon, and FIG. 4 is the support layer 1 The back surface layer 2 is provided on the back surface of the same, and the tint block printing 7 is also applied on the front surface, and the colored undercoat
FIG. 5 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of an openwork paper provided with an engraving layer 4 via a printing layer 3. FIG.
FIG. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of an openwork paper in which a backside layer 2 is further provided thereon, and an engraving layer 4 is provided on the surface of the support layer 1 with an undercoat layer 3 interposed therebetween. ,
By engraving as shown in FIG. 2, a clear image can be visually recognized by the transmitted light.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The present invention provides the openwork paper as described above. In the openwork paper comprising a support layer and an engraving layer, the support layer has an opacity of 70% or less and the engraving layer has an opacity of less than 70%. 40% or more, the opacity of the support layer is always lower than the opacity of the engraving layer, and the difference in opacity between the support layer and the engraving layer is 30% or more, and engraving from the engraving layer to the support layer is performed. Therefore, when the above engraving is performed, the engraved image is difficult to see in reflected light and clearly visible in transmitted light, which makes it extremely difficult to forge, and even if the image is rubbed with a nail or the like after image engraving. It is not peeled off, and is therefore suitable as a watermark engraving paper for items such as passports that require forgery prevention.
