図(a)に示すようにノッキング判定区間が広すぎる
と、第3図(b)のA部のようなノッキング波形の出力
の小さい部分を多く含むために、ノッキング検出信号の
平均値としては異常に小さくなってしまったり、第3図
(c)のB部のようなノイズ波形を含む確率が高くなる
ために耐ノイズ性が悪化したりして、ノッキング検出性
を著しく低下させるという問題点があった。また、他の
過給圧・圧縮比等を切り替える場合においても、過給圧
・圧縮比等によってはノッキング判定区間内にノイズ波
形が生じたりして、前記と同様にノッキング検出性を著
しく低下させるという問題があった。

第1図に本発明の一実施例の構成を示すブロック図を
示す。ノッキング検出手段2でノッキングに基づくシリ
ンダ内圧振動を検出し、ノッキング判定手段3で後述す
る6で決定されるノッキング判定区間内において、後述
する7で決定されるノッキング判定レベルとノッキング
検出手段2からの出力信号との比較によって、ノッキン
グの有無を判定し、遅角量決定手段4でノッキング判定
手段3の結果に基づいて遅角量が決定される。オクタン
価判別手段5では前記遅角量に基づいてガソリンのオク
タン価を判別する。たとえば、所定運転領域での遅角量
が所定値以下で制御されている時間が所定期間続いたと
きは高オクタン価燃料が使用されていると判断し、基本
点火時期切替手段9で基本点火時期マップを高オクタン
価用(進角側)に切り替え、さらに、過給圧切替手段8
で制御過給圧を高くする。また、ノッキング判定区間切
替手段6、ノッキング判定レベル切替手段7で高オクタ
ン価・高価給圧用のノッキング判定区間と判定レベルと
に切り替える。逆にオクタン価判別手段5で所定運転領
域での遅角量が所定値以上で制御されている時間が所定
期間続いたときは、低オクタン価燃料が使用されている
と判断し、基本点火時期切替手段9で基本点火時期マッ
