Abstract

PURPOSE: To connect both a pair of sheet members to a crosslinking member by one conducting operation by doubling the member with the weldable sheet piece to be welded as a core, and holding the superposed pair of the members to sandwich the member between the electrodes of a high frequency welding apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A pair of sheet members 1, 2 are spread on a pair of working bases 7, the lower electrode 5 of a high frequency welding apparatus is disposed between the bases 7, and an upper electrode is disposed oppositely to the electrode 5. In this case, a crosslinking member 3 is doubled by sandwiching a weldable sheet 4 to be welded, the welding position is agreed with the upper electrode 6, and inserted between the members 1 and 2. The electrode 6 is press bonded down to be conducted to generate heat from the resins of the members l, 2 and 3, and the members 1, 2 and 3 are welded. Thus, the connection is completed by one high frequency welding, thereby improving the operating efficiency.

2. Description of the Related Art Films of heat-fusible resins such as polyvinyl chloride and sheets of fiber base cloth coated with these resins are widely used because they can be easily sewn by high-frequency welding. These sheets that are sewn and filled with air are used for air mats, simple pools, balloons such as dolls, animals, and vehicles, as well as temporary buildings at events and construction sites. In addition, flexible containers and aquariums are being widely used as containers for powders and liquids. In the case of a sheet product filled with such a gas, a liquid or a granular material, it is often necessary to provide a crosslinked structure (crossover) inside in order to maintain a desired shape. In particular, when a certain thickness such as an air mat or the wall or roof of a temporary building is required, a large number of bridges are required, and the processing is extremely complicated.

Conventionally, in order to avoid this complexity, the front and back sheets have been directly joined, but the performance and appearance have been unsatisfactory. In the method of using another bridging member, the same or different type of sheet or string is used, and the joining method is performed by heat welding one by one. Therefore, the number of welding operations is large and the bridging member is welded to the back surface of the sheet Therefore, the handling of large sheets made the work difficult.

In order to solve this problem, the inventor of the present invention inserts a bridging member between a pair of upper and lower sheet members, and holds the overlapping portion between the electrodes of the high frequency welding device, The inventors have invented a method of energizing and allowing the upper and lower sheet members and the bridging member to be welded in one operation. That is,
The present invention provides a third space between a pair of heat-welding sheet members facing each other.
In joining the cross-linking member composed of the heat-weldable sheet pieces, the non-welding sheet piece is used as a core to fold the cross-linking member in two, and the pair of sheet members are superposed so as to sandwich them. A method of joining sheet materials is characterized in that the joining portion is held so as to be positioned between the electrodes of the high-frequency welding apparatus, and a welding portion is formed between the members by one energization operation. The pair of sheet members facing each other include a case where the sheet members are continuous sheets.

The present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram illustrating the method of the present invention. A pair of sheet members 1 and 2 are extended on worktables 7 and 7.
The lower electrode 5 of the high frequency welding device is installed between the worktables 7 and 7, and the upper electrode 6 is arranged so as to face the lower electrode 5 and sandwich the sheet members 1 and 2. The bridging member 3 is folded in two with the non-weldable sheet 4 sandwiched therebetween, and is inserted between the sheet members 1 and 2 with the welding position aligned with the upper electrode 6 and held at that position. The welding operation is performed by pressing the upper electrode 6 downward,
The energization causes the resins of the sheet materials 1 and 2 and the bridging member 3 to generate heat, and the sheet members 1 and 2 and the bridging member 3 are joined by welding. 2 and 3 are cross-sectional views of the joint portion of the embodiment according to the present invention.

The sheet member usable in the present invention is required to have at least a thermoplastic resin which causes a dielectric heat generation by a high frequency and melts as a main component of the surface to be joined, and a typical example thereof is a vinyl chloride film or a vinyl chloride coating woven fabric. Etc. are polyvinyl chloride resin products. In addition, high frequency welding is also possible for vinyl chloride copolymer, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene fluoride, polyurethane and the like. The sheet members 1 and 2 are the same or different depending on the purpose of use, and the cross-linking member 3 can also be a resin sheet, a sheet with a reinforcing cloth, a mesh sheet or the like depending on the purpose. The bridging member can form a completely independent air bladder as a partition wall, or can be provided with appropriate openings to control the flow of gas or the like. The latter is useful when the product is used as a duct.

The non-weldable sheet piece used for welding the cross-linking member is preferably cellophane, a fluororesin film, a hard or semi-rigid fluororesin sheet, an epoxy resin sheet or the like. A rigid or semi-rigid sheet is useful for accurately holding the flexible bridging member in the welding position,
As a welding jig, it can be used as an auxiliary tool for positioning, but a thick tool causes a decrease in the amount of current, and therefore the thickness is limited.

According to the present invention, in joining a bridging member composed of a third heat-welding sheet piece between a pair of heat-welding sheet members facing each other, heat-welding is performed one by one in the conventional manner,
Therefore, there is no need to perform an operation such as turning over the long sheet member, and with a pair of sheet members stacked,
A bridging member can be inserted between them and the joining can be completed by one high-frequency welding operation, and the working efficiency is remarkably improved.
The bridging member is folded in two and a non-welding sheet piece is sandwiched between the bridging members to prevent the bridging members from welding.

EXAMPLE An example of joining the crosslinked portions of the air mat according to the present invention will be described below. Two tarpaulin sheets 1 in which a polyester filament woven fabric is coated with a soft vinyl chloride resin,
2 is overlapped and extended on the lower electrode 5 of the high-frequency welding device and the work table 7 arranged in parallel therewith, and the position where the bridging member is welded is set to 5
It is fitted directly below the upper electrode 6 having a cross section of 00 mm × 20 mm. A tarpaulin piece 3 having a cross-linking portion of 500 mm in length, 100 mm in width, and 20 mm in width for welding is folded in two, covered with a slightly larger semi-rigid fluororesin sheet 4, and the bent portion is temporarily fixed with a plastic clip. The bridging member 3 is inserted between the two tarpaulin sheets 1 and 2 described above so that the welding positions are aligned. The upper electrode 6 is lowered and crimped to conduct electricity. After cooling, the upper electrode is raised, the clip and the fluororesin sheet 4 are removed, and the upper and lower tarpaulin sheets are moved to the right in the drawing and set at the next welding position. This operation was repeated to form crosslinked portions at intervals of 150 mm. Figure 2
[Fig. 3] is a cross-sectional view of a joint portion of the example. FIG. 3 is a sectional view of an embodiment in which a corner member for maintaining the shape of a flexible container in a cube is attached by the method of the present invention. A circular hole is formed in this bridge to facilitate the flow of the contents.

Then, the pair of sheet members, which are sandwiched between them, are held so that desired joints are located between the electrodes of the high-frequency welding apparatus, and a welding portion is formed between the members by one energization operation. A method for joining sheet materials, which is characterized by hardening.
