Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a mildew-resistant resin compsn. which is substantially free from a problem of occurrence of mildew. CONSTITUTION: This mildew-resistant resin compsn. comprises an antibacterial/ mildew-proofing agent and a water repellent. The resin compsn. is molded into a mildew-resistant shower hose. Due to the water repellency by the water repellent, water present on the surface of the shower hose is repelled, thus making it easy to dry the surface of the hose. The repelling of the water therefrom prevents the occurrence of mildew. The occurrence of mildew can surely be prevented by virtue of mildew-proofing activity of the antibacterial/mildew- proofing agent. The use of the antibacterial/mildew-proofing agent in combination with the water repellent can offer an excellent synergistic effect which can substantially completely prevent the occurrence of mildew.
