【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、磁気ディスクなどの記録媒体の表面汚染測定
装置に係り、特に非破壊で定量的に汚染を測定し得る表
面汚染測定装置に関する。

クに接触して起動、停止を行なう磁気ヘッドスライダー
の起動、停止時の発生ダストを吸引し、吸引したダスト
をダストカウンタで計測し、磁気ディスクとスライダの
境界潤滑の良否を評価する方法であった。すなわち、ス
ライダ又はコーティングの一部が摺動し、摺動による材
料の微粉が発生する。そこでスライダの磁気ディスクの
回転方向に対して後部に吸塵管を設け、微粉を計測する
ダストカウンタに接続し、ダストを計測するものであ
る。

〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕[Problems to be solved by the invention]

上記特公昭57−4028に記載の従来技術は、磁気ディスク
と磁気ヘッドとの組合せに関係する評価方法であり、磁
気ディスクの汚染を評価する方法でなく、また磁気ディ
スクを回転しながら測定するため、ディスクのどの部分
が汚染されているか分からず、汚染位置を確認すること
が出来ないという問題があった。また磁気ヘッドの浮上
は、磁気ディスクを回転させることによりヘッドとディ
スクの間に空気流が入り込み、加圧され、この力により
生ずるものである。加圧された空気は磁気ヘッドの後部
(ディスクの回転方向に対して)にくると常圧となり、
微粉は磁気ヘッドの後端部にまき上げられるが、一部は
磁気ヘットに付着する。従って微粉がすべて吸塵管に吸
収されないという問題があった。

を上記記録媒体上で移動させるキャリッジと、エアの吸
入によって集塵された塵埃の量を計測する計測手段とを
有し、上記記録媒体の表面の汚染量を測定することを特
徴とする記録媒体表面汚染測定装置によって達成され
る。
