針穴の形態、数、大きさ等を調節することによって、通
気性を調節することが可能であるが、微細気孔フィルム
に針穴を設けて通気性を調節した場合には、微細気孔フ
ィルムを用いて作成したカイロの特性が失われてしまう
という欠点がある。即ち、微細気孔フィルムを用いたカ
イロでは、発熱反応によって袋内の酸素が消費される
と、袋内が減圧となり、カイロ使用中に内容物が片寄ら
ず、使い易いという特性があるが、微細気孔フィルムに
針穴を設けると、袋内が減圧とならず、上記特性が失わ
れてしまう。針穴を設けずに通気性を調節する方法とし
ては、微細連続気孔を有するシートの所望の部分に適度
な熱融着を施す方法(特公平1−30169)や、通気
性微細孔を有するシートに樹脂系物質を部分的に、また
は全面に塗布する方法(特開昭59−37147)があ
るが、いずれも特別な機械装置を必要とし、熱融着で
は、加工時の圧力、熱による通気孔の形状、大きさの変
動が不確定のため、通気性の調節が困難であったり、あ
るいは、非通気化するほどの熱融着を行う場合には、加
工によって、フィルムの通気性が低下するという欠点が
あり、また、樹脂系物質を塗布する場合には、通気孔へ
の接着剤の付着による通気孔の大きさの変動や、樹脂系
物質の塗布面積の変動に起因する通気性調節の困難さ、
あるいは部分的に塗布された樹脂系物質による袋材の厚
