Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an endless printing belt excellent in abrasion resistance, not swollen by a solvent and having any color by vulcanizing a rubber compsn. compounded with specific pts.wt. or more of a filler containing silicic acid in specific pts.wt. or more in the presence of sulfur. CONSTITUTION:An endless printing belt is obtained by kneading a rubber compsn. prepared by adding a filler containing 20 pts.wt. or more of silicic acid to blended rubber consisting of EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene rubber) and NBR (acryloritrile-butadiene rubber) to vulcanize the same along with a reinforcing fabric in the presence of sulfur. The blended rubber consists of 70-99 pts.wt. of EPDM and 1-30 pts.wt. of NBR and the filler is used in an amt. of 40 pts.wt. or more per 100 pts.wt. of the blended rubber. Since the rubber compsn. becomes vulcanized rubber having a creamy color high in whiteness by vulcanization in the presence of sulfure, the endless printing belt having a sharp color is obtained when a colorant is compounded.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an endless printing belt for a rotary rubber stamp has a vulcanizing agent, a filler,
After accommodating a sheet made of unvulcanized rubber kneaded with additives and the like, stacking a reinforcing cloth on the upper surface of the sheet and vulcanizing by heating under pressure, the mold is removed, and the convex character corresponding to the concave character of the mold is After manufacturing a plate-shaped vulcanized rubber formed on the surface, and then applying unvulcanized rubber dissolved in a rubber solvent to the adhesive portion A where the rubber at one end is peeled off, the adhesive portion at the other end is applied. B is vulcanized and adhered to form an endless annular body, which is cut into a required width to obtain an annular band (see FIGS. 1 and 2). The rubber used is mainly natural rubber (NR), but in some cases, acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR), which generally shows excellent oil resistance and solvent resistance, is also used as an industrial / industrial rubber stamp. However, natural rubber is inferior in abrasion resistance, oil resistance and solvent resistance, and has a drawback that it cannot withstand long-term use and oil-based stamp ink. In that respect, NBR has excellent wear resistance,
It has excellent oil and solvent resistance to mineral oils and hydrocarbon solvents, but as the main solvent ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, glycol ether such as propylene glycol monoethyl ether, benzyl alcohol, etc. A stamp ink using an aromatic alcohol swells and has a drawback that it cannot withstand long-term use. Therefore, the applicant has proposed ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EP
When DM) was used as a rubber stamp material, a rubber stamp having excellent abrasion resistance and excellent solvent resistance to glycol ether and benzyl alcohol could be obtained. But E
PDM has a drawback that its adhesiveness is extremely inferior, and an adhesive portion or a cloth may be peeled off in a short period of time, so it is very possible to obtain an endless printing belt for a rotating rubber stamp that can endure long-term use. It was difficult. In particular, since the adhesive portion is in a special state in which the vulcanized rubber is adhered to the reinforcing cloth, it may not even be possible to adhere the adhesive portion to each other. Therefore, a blend rubber containing NBR or the like has been proposed as a rubber for improving the adhesiveness while maintaining the physical properties of EPDM (Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 49-89749 and 54-1).
06554, JP-A-62-172043, etc.), the amount of NBR compounded was too large, and the physical properties of EPDM deteriorated, causing swelling in the solvent. On the other hand, when the blending amount of NBR was reduced, sufficient adhesive force could not be obtained, and the endless printing belt could not be obtained. Furthermore, EP
Unlike EPDM 100% rubber or NBR 100% rubber, DM-NBR blended rubber requires a large amount of sulfur and a vulcanization accelerator to be blended in order to obtain satisfactory physical properties. It was difficult to get rubber.

The endless printing belt of the present invention is made of EPDM and N
After kneading a rubber composition obtained by adding a filler containing 20 parts by weight or more of silicic acid to a blend rubber composed of BR,
It is obtained by sulfur vulcanization together with a reinforcing cloth. The blended rubber has an EPDM of 70 to 99 parts by weight, preferably 80 to 99 parts by weight.
95 parts by weight and 1 to 30 parts by weight of NBR, preferably 5
˜20 parts by weight, for a total of 100 parts by weight. The EPDM and NBR used in the present invention may be those generally commercially available. For example, JSR EP35,
EP37C, EP65, etc. (above, EP manufactured by Japan Synthetic Rubber Co., Ltd.
DM), JSR N220S, N223L, N221H
Etc. (above, NBR made by Japan Synthetic Rubber Co., Ltd.) can be used. The filler is used in an amount of 40 parts by weight or more, preferably 65 to 75 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the blend rubber. Here, this filler is required to contain 20 parts by weight or more of silicic acid. Therefore, it may be a filler composed of only silicic acid, or a filler composed of 20 parts by weight of silicic acid and 20 parts by weight or more of another filler. The silicic acid used in the present invention may be any of commercially available hydrous silicic acid and silicic acid anhydride. For example, Nipseal VN3, Nipseal LP, etc. (above, manufactured by Nippon Silica Industry Co., Ltd.), Reoro Seal (above, manufactured by Tokuyama Soda Co., Ltd.) ) And the like. As the other filler that is used as necessary, a commercially available filler can be used, and examples thereof include magnesium silicate, calcium silicate, and calcium carbonate. When blended with carbon black,
A uniform and even black endless printing belt can be obtained, but a white / chromatic endless printing belt cannot be obtained, and thus is not used in the present invention. The reinforcing cloth is not particularly limited as long as it is a fiber that does not melt or shrink at the vulcanization temperature, and cotton is usually used. The vulcanizing agent may be a commercially available sulfur-based vulcanizing agent. For example, a sulfur-containing compound or a sulfur-containing compound may be used.
About 5 parts may be blended. When the rubber composition is sulfur-vulcanized, it becomes a cream-colored vulcanized rubber having a high degree of whiteness, and therefore, when a colorant is added, an endless printing belt having a clear color can be obtained.

If desired, known colorants, vulcanization aids, vulcanization accelerators, softening agents and the like can be added to the rubber composition of the present invention. As the colorant, any commercially available pigment other than black can be used without particular limitation, and titanium oxide (white), lead chromate (yellow), iron oxide (red), phthalocyanine (blue) can be used. ) And so on. Since the rubber composition of the present invention has a cream color with high whiteness without being discolored black even when sulfur vulcanized, it is possible to provide an endless printing belt of various vivid colors by adding a coloring agent, Good to raise the willingness to buy. Examples of the vulcanization aid include stearic acid and zinc white.
Examples of the vulcanization accelerator include thiazoles, thyliums, sulfenamides, dithiocarbamates and the like. Examples of the softening agent include paraffin type process oil and naphthene type process oil.

When the rubber composition used in the present invention deviates from the above composition, the following results occur. If the amount of EPDM is less than 70 parts by weight even if the filler is blended in a required ratio, the solvent resistance to the stamp ink containing glycol ether or benzyl alcohol as a main solvent is lowered, while 99 parts by weight is added. If it is larger than the area, the adhesiveness of the adhesive portion is deteriorated and the endless printing belt cannot be manufactured. Even if the blended rubber is blended in the required ratio, if the amount of silicic acid is less than 20 parts by weight, the adhesive strength is reduced and an endless printing belt that can withstand long-term use cannot be obtained. When sulfur is vulcanized, the color changes to black, and it is not possible to obtain an endless printing belt with a clear color.

It is not clear why the rubber composition used in the present invention has adhesiveness and suppresses discoloration when formulated as described above, but it is estimated from the results when the composition deviates as follows. it can. By mixing a small amount of NBR, which has a high chemical reactivity, with EPDM, EPDM is modified to some extent, and since the chemical reactivity of EPDM is activated by silicic acid, the adhesion is improved. When blended rubber is used, it is considered that the unsaturated free sulfur will flow out due to the difference in the vulcanization rate of NBR and EPDM, causing a black discoloration. However, since silicic acid adsorbs this unreacted free sulfur, discoloration is suppressed. Can be held. Therefore, all the drawbacks can be overcome only when the rubber composition has the above composition.

[Effect] The present invention does not impair the abrasion resistance of EPDM, solvent resistance to glycol ether and benzyl alcohol, and adheres even when the vulcanized rubber is fixed to the reinforcing cloth at the adhesive part. Since the parts can be firmly adhered to each other, the adhered part does not peel off even after long-term use, and since it does not discolor due to sulfur vulcanization, it is possible to obtain endless printing belts for rotating rubber stamps having various vivid colors. .
