従来の合成樹脂製容器においては,機械的強度,耐熱
性,およびガスバリヤー性等の向上が図れるという理由
で,二軸延伸ブロー成形したものが多く使用されてい
る。

しかし,これら二軸延伸ブローによって成形された容器
には内部残留応力が発生するため,完成品となった容器
が収縮変形等を起こすという問題があった。この問題を
解決するものに,ダブルブローという成形方法がある。
このダブルブロー成形は二軸延伸ブロー成形した容器を
再度加熱し,それによって容器に存在する内部残留応力
を取り除き,その後,再びブローを行い完成品とするも
のである。このダブルブローによって成形された容器
は,その結果,単に二軸延伸成形された容器より収縮変
形し難いものとなっている。
