DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Purpose of Invention] (Field of Industrial Application) The present invention relates to a septum electromagnet which is a special beam deflecting electromagnet used for incidence and extraction of a beam on an accelerator.

(Prior Art) As shown in FIG. 3, a special beam-deflecting electromagnet used for injecting a beam into an accelerator or extracting a beam from the accelerator has a C-shaped iron core 1 laminated in many layers. It is made up of a thin coil called an inner conductor 3 and a septum (partition wall) 4 (which is often made of ferrite, silicon steel plate, or the like, in which a pulsed current is often applied). . Electric currents flow through the septum 4 and the inner conductor 3 in opposite directions. The distribution of the magnetic field on the x-axis is uniform in the gap between the inner conductor 3 and the septum 4, and there is no leakage of magnetic flux outside, ideally as shown in 7 of FIG. Is.

(Problems to be solved by the invention) The inner conductor 3 is not particularly limited in space and can be formed in consideration of electromagnetic force and the like, but the septum needs to be as thin as possible due to interference with the passing beam, The coil alone cannot withstand electromagnetic force. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 5, the septum fixing portion 10 is provided with a fixing plate 5 to fix the septum fixing portion 10. However, with this shape, a current also flows through the septum fixing portion other than the coil portion 9, the magnetic field distribution deteriorates as shown by the broken line in FIG. 4, and the leakage magnetic field becomes large.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, in the present invention, a septum is formed to have a fixing portion having a comb shape along the stacking direction of an iron core, and the septum is fixed by a fixing plate. To fix it to the iron core case.

(Operation) The cause of the deterioration of the magnetic field distribution and the increase of the leakage magnetic field is the current flowing through the septum fixing portion 10. In the present invention, since the shape of the septum fixing portion is comb-shaped as described above, the current in the septum fixing portion is reduced and the leakage magnetic field is reduced.

(Embodiment) An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, a C-shaped iron core 1 having a multi-layered structure, an iron core case 2 and an internal conductor 3 for accommodating the C-shaped iron core 1, and a comb shape as shown in FIG. The septum 18 has a septum fixing portion 30, a fixing plate 5 for fixing the septum 18 to the iron core case 2, and a fastening component 20.

If the septum is shaped as shown in FIG. 2, the resistance of the septum fixing portion 30 with respect to the coil portion 9 can be made much larger. If the resistance increases, it becomes difficult for current to flow in that portion, that is, the current flowing in the septum fixing portion 30 can be reduced. Therefore, the current distribution in the septum is close to the ideal, the leakage magnetic field is reduced, and as a result, the uniformity of the magnetic field in the gap is improved.

As described above, in the present invention, the septum is formed so as to have the comb-shaped fixing portion along the stacking direction of the iron core, and the septum is fixed to the iron core case by the fixing plate. It is possible to provide a septum electromagnet in which a current in the fixed portion is hard to flow, a uniform magnetic field is generated, and a leakage magnetic field is small.
