ップ跡形成部分に目盛り画像が形成されるから、ニップ
跡の測定を簡単に実施することが可能である。

【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 少なくとも定着ロ―ラと加圧ロ―ラとを
含む熱ロ―ラ定着装置を設け、転写材上にトナ―像を形
成するトナ―像形成手段と、前記トナ―像を担持した前
記転写材を搬送させる搬送手段と、前記熱ロ―ラ定着装
置を通過する前記転写材を検知する検知手段と、前記定
着ロ―ラと加圧ロ―ラとの圧接部の形状を前記転写材に
残るニップ後として形成する定着ニップ跡形成モ―ドを
選択する選択手段とを有する画像形成装置において、前
記選択手段によって定着ニップ跡形成モ―ドが選択され
たときに前記転写材上の所定の部分にトナ―像を形成し
前記転写材を定着ロ―ラと加圧ロ―ラとの圧着部に搬送
し前記転写材上のトナ―像を形成した所定の部分が定着
ロ―ラと加圧ロ―ラとの圧接部を通過中に搬送を停止さ
せ停止後所定時間経過の後再び転写材を搬送するように
制御する制御手段を備えることを特徴とする画像形成装
置。

材を定着ロ―ラと加圧ロ―ラとの圧着部に搬送し前記転
写材上の一定領域のトナ―像と目盛り画像とを形成した
所定の部分が定着ロ―ラと加圧ロ―ラとの圧接部を通過
中に搬送を停止させ停止後所定時間経過の後再び転写材
を搬送するように制御する制御手段とを備えることを特
徴とする画像形成装置。
