石ヘッドにセットし、サイズが450 ×450mm のダイス鋼
(SKD 11、HRC 55) の表面を研削した。このときのテー
ブル回転速度は毎分15回転、砥石ヘッドの回転速度は毎
分1340回転であった。砥石ヘッドの中心部から研削液を
毎分20リットルの割合で研削面に噴出しつつ研削した。
また図4に示した従来の砥石についても、同一条件で研
削を行った。その結果を表1に示す。この表1に示され
たように、本発明のロータリー平面研削盤用砥石を使用
すれば、目詰まりが生ずることがなく、しかも平面度を
初め多くの項目において従来の砥石を用いた場合よりも

【発明の効果】以上に説明したように、本発明のロータ
リー平面研削盤用砥石は、周方向の長さが最も長く目詰
まりを生じ易い円弧状の外周面の中央に凹部を設けた形
状としたので、この凹部に研削液を巻き込み、切粉の目
詰まりが防止される。またこの凹部により研削面積が減
少したので研削抵抗も減少し、切れ味が向上する。その
結果、被研削面の平面度が良くなり、研削焼けが減少
し、仕上げ面粗さが良くなる。また研削比も向上し、従
