First, the slide portion 9 will be described. Two load ball grooves 2 are formed on the top and bottom of the inner surface of the sliding cylinder 1, and a ball cage 3 having return parts at both ends is provided inside the sliding cylinder 1. Two unloaded ball tracks 4 are formed at each position. A ball rolling groove 8 is formed on the outer periphery of the shaft 7 inserted into the sliding cylinder 1 at a position corresponding to the load ball groove 2. Therefore, four ball endless tracks 5 formed by the loaded ball groove 2, the unloaded ball track 4, and the ball rolling groove 8 are formed on the inner surface of the sliding cylinder 1. Reference numeral 24 is a collar portion.

Next, the rotating portion 22 will be described. A rotating outer cylinder (12) having a cylindrical rolling element retainer (10) having a plurality of load rolling element fitting sections (holes) formed at regular intervals is provided on the inner surface. A collar portion 15 is provided on the rotating outer cylinder 12 in a line. In the drawing, the rotating unit 22 uses balls as the rolling elements 11, but the same applies when rollers (cross rollers) are used instead of the balls 11. Incidentally, reference numeral 23 is a ball which receives a load in the sliding direction, and unlike the ball 11, it is arranged in an annular shape so that the adjacent balls 23 are in contact with each other.

FIG. 4 is a sectional view of the second embodiment, in which the ring member 13 is added to the first embodiment.
That is, inside the sliding cylinder 1, ring members 13 fitted on the shaft 7 and abuttingly sliding on the shaft 7 are provided at both ends of the ball cage 3. The ring member 13 uses, for example, a so-called oil wrestling bearing impregnated with oil.

In this embodiment, since the ring members 13 are provided on both sides of the ball retainer 3, the action of the plain bearing is exhibited in addition to the action of the rolling bearing. Specifically, the rigidity in the pitching direction and the radial direction is improved. Therefore, the present embodiment exhibits both the advantages of the rolling bearing and the advantages of the plain bearing.

If the ring member 13 is made of a split ring body or the like so that its diameter can be changed, the ring member 13 can be brought into contact with the shaft 7 at any time, and therefore, depending on the use condition. Only the rolling bearing can be appropriately selected, and the rolling bearing and the plain bearing can be used together. The adoption of the ring member 13 having a variable diameter means that the sliding resistance of the sliding cylinder 1 in the traveling direction can be arbitrarily set. Therefore, in this embodiment, the sliding cylinder 1 has a sliding condition adjusting function. It can be said that the device has been added.
