Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a method for manufacture of a card wherein a center core and an over sheet can be thermally fused to each other irrespective of any kind of a printing ink. CONSTITUTION:A pattern printed layer 3 and a character printed layer 4 exist respectively on one and the other faces of a center core 1. A thermoplastic synthetic resin adhesive layer 6 is applied onto each printed layer face. Thereafter, both faces are covered by an over sheet 6 to compose a card.

A conventional card is shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. , Fig. 2
2A and 2B are views showing a configuration of a conventional card, FIG. 2A is an exploded perspective view, and FIG. 2B is a sectional view. As shown in FIG. 2A, the conventional card is made of a transparent thermoplastic synthetic resin in which both sides of the center core 1 of the white thermoplastic synthetic resin, which is the base material of the card, serve as protective materials for the card surface. It is covered with an oversheet 2 which is a film. This card is assembled by printing an ink of a thermoplastic synthetic resin on the adhesive surface of either the center core 1 or the oversheet 2, printing it, and then applying heat and pressure to heat-bond the adhesive surfaces to each other. . In FIG. 2A, printing is performed on the center core. As shown in FIG. 2 (b), the center core 1 has a pattern printing layer 3 printed on the front surface using a thermoplastic synthetic resin ink and a character printing layer 4 printed with a card description on the back surface.
And both printing surfaces are covered with the oversheet 2. The members constituting the card of FIG. 2 are all made of thermoplastic synthetic resin including ink, so that they have good heat-sealing properties and do not peel off.

3A and 3B are views showing the structure of another conventional card. FIG. 3A is an exploded perspective view and FIG. 3B is a sectional view. FIG. 3 shows a case where an acrylic resin or phenol resin, which is a thermosetting synthetic resin, or an ultraviolet curable offset ink is used as the printing ink. When printing is performed using a thermosetting synthetic resin ink, the printing layers 3 and 4 and the thermoplastic synthetic resin oversheet 2 are not heat-sealed, so that the entire surface is not printed and the end portion of the card is about 1 mm.
After printing while leaving the degree as the adhesive part 5, the adhesive part 5 at the end of the card is heat-fused to be assembled by heat and pressure.
Reference numeral 3 is a pattern print layer, and 4 is a character print layer.

Among these conventional cards, the card shown in FIG. 2 is limited to a screen printing method, a gravure printing method, and a relief printing method, which have a low printing quality level and a high cost. Cannot print. In offset printing using PS plates, which is currently the mainstream of high-quality color printing, the main component of the ink is a thermosetting or UV-curable synthetic resin, so printing on the entire surface of the card results in a center core and oversheet. There is a drawback in that the heat fusion cannot be performed, and as shown in FIG. 3, it is necessary to print by leaving the adhesive portion at the end of the card, and the entire surface of the card cannot be printed.

That is, according to the present invention, a center core, which is a card base material made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin, and an oversheet, which is a protective material for the card surface, are heated and pressed to bond them to each other. In the method of manufacturing a card by heat-sealing the surface, the center core, the adhesive sheet of thermoplastic synthetic resin is applied to the printed surface printed on the adhesive surface of any one of the oversheets, and the adhesive layer After the formation of the above, the center core and the oversheet are heated and pressed to heat-bond their mutual adhesive surfaces to each other to assemble the card.

[Function] Since the adhesive layer of the thermoplastic synthetic resin is formed on the printed layer on the adhesive surface of either the center core or the oversheet, the printing ink is a thermosetting or ultraviolet curable synthetic resin. Even if there is heat fusion by heat and pressure, a high-quality color printing method free from design restrictions is possible.

In this embodiment, an ultraviolet curable ink is used for the center core, the ink is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to cure the ink, and then the thermoplastic synthetic resin adhesive is applied.
An adhesive may be applied in a state where the ink before being irradiated with ultraviolet rays is uncured, and then the ink may be cured by being irradiated with ultraviolet rays and then heated to form an adhesive layer. With this method, a card having higher peel strength can be obtained.
