Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a sphygmomanometer which is easy to use and is capable of easily matching a cuff to the height position of the heart. CONSTITUTION:This sphygmomanometer has the cuff 1 to be mounted at the required part Y of the human body to compresses this part to hinder the blood and a height adjusting means 2 adjustable to the height position of the heart X of the human body and is used to measure a blood-pressure value by the pressure in the cuff 1. This height adjusting means 2 consists of a reference member 3 fixed at its end to the cuff 1 and an indicating member 5 freely rotatably disposed at this reference member 3 in such a manner as to face one direction at all times. The reference member 3 is so constituted that this indicating member 5 is aligned to the prescribed position of the reference member 3 when the reference member 3 inclines at a prescribed angle from a horizontal direction.

2. Description of the Related Art When measuring blood pressure with a sphygmomanometer that has a cuff worn on the wrist or finger, the cuff should be approximately at the same height as the heart in order to avoid an error between the measured value and the actual value. I need to measure it. Therefore, when measuring blood pressure, a cushion for measurement is used as shown in FIG. 10, or the cuff is visually and sensibly adjusted to the height position of the heart.

However, in the method using a cushion, there is a possibility that a correct measured value cannot be obtained because the cushion does not have a shape or size suitable for the user, or the arm does not hit the cushion correctly. It was Further, in the method of visually adjusting the feeling, there is a possibility that the measured values may vary from measurement to measurement.

As a solution to this problem, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5-2 is known.
There is one disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 00003. This is because a cuff having a light emitting part (or light receiving part) is attached to the wrist, and a height matching part having a light receiving part (or light emitting part) is attached around the heart of the human body so that the cuff is higher than the heart. When the height is substantially the same as that of the light emitting portion, the light from the light emitting portion is received by the light receiving portion and the notification means such as a buzzer notifies the light.

Next, a method of aligning the cuff 1 with the height position of the heart X will be described. First, as shown in FIG. 3, the cuff 1 is attached to the main part Y so that the end face of the rotating part 11 is substantially parallel to the vertical direction. Next, the main part Y is lit up
If you incline until 8 lights up, the cuff 1 will be approximately the same height as the heart X. That is, when the cuff 1 is not substantially at the same height as the heart X, the lighting member 8 is, as shown in FIG.
When the blocking unit 11b blocks the light from the light emitting unit 6 and the light does not reach the light receiving unit 7, the light is turned off, and when the cuff 1 is substantially at the same height as the heart X, as shown in FIG. This is because the light-transmitting portion 11a passes through the light from the light-emitting portion 6 and reaches the light-receiving portion 7 so that it is turned on.

1. A cuff that is attached to a main part such as a wrist or a finger of a human body to compress and stop blood flow, and a height adjusting means that can adjust the cuff to the height position of the heart of the human body. In a sphygmomanometer for measuring a high blood pressure value and a diastolic blood pressure value, the height adjusting means includes a reference member whose end is fixed to a cuff and an instruction member rotatably provided on the reference member so as to always face in one direction. The sphygmomanometer is configured such that when the reference member is inclined by a predetermined amount with respect to the horizontal direction, the indicating means is aligned with the predetermined position of the reference member.

2. An optical sensor means having a light emitting portion and a light receiving portion is provided at a predetermined position of the reference member, and a light transmitting portion for transmitting light from the light emitting portion to the indicator member and a light blocking portion for blocking light from the light emitting portion. The light transmitting portion transmits the light from the light emitting portion when the reference member is inclined by a predetermined amount with respect to the horizontal direction, and the blocking portion blocks the light from the light emitting portion otherwise.
