Abstract

PURPOSE:To apply a joint metal fitting to a hose with a comparatively small inside diameter without requiring any collet member by plastically deforming a comical cylinder of the joint metal fitting by means of a taper rod so as to install the joint metal fitting in the hose. CONSTITUTION:A tip part of a hose 6 is inserted and fitted between a conical cylinder 83 of an installing inner metal fitting 81 and a hose cylinder 93 of an installing outer metal fitting 91 in a joint metal fitting. To the joint metal fitting 80 in this condition, a pressing part 72 with the predetermined length L and a taper rod 70 with the predetermined diameter D are inserted into the inside of the conical cylinder 83. As a result, the conical cylinder 83 is plastically deformed into a cylindrical shape with a diameter D when the tip of the pressing part 72 of the taper rod 70 corresponds to the tip of the conical cylinder 83, and projecting bars 84 formed on the outside face of the cylinder 83 press the wall face of the hose 6 unevenly so as to cooperate with an insertion cylinder 92 for fastening the hose 6 and the joint metal fitting 80 together.
