Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a pedestal for steel sheets, light in weight, having no directional properties in strength and having size stability by using a glass-fiber- reinforced plastic foam board as a base plate and disposing two legs comprising a hollow rectangular bar made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic at a predetermined interval on the lower face of the base plate to be bonded and fixed thereto. CONSTITUTION:A setting stand 1 has a base plate 2 comprising a glassfiber- reinforced urethane foam board and excellent in mechanical and thermal characteristics, and a pair of legs 3 comprising a hollow rectangular bar formed of a GFRP plate is disposed in parallel with each other at a given interval on the lower face of the base plate 2 and bonded and fixed thereto with an epoxy adhesive. Each leg 3 has recesses 8 for allowing binding ropes or bands to pass therethrough, which are provided on the base plate side face (upper face) of the leg, and forms an angle 4 for roller transport. Further, a composite body having a sandwich structure wherein a foam or a honeycomb body is disposed between plate bodies made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic is used as the base plate 2.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, steel sheets that have been cut to a predetermined size, for example, steel sheets whose surfaces are plated, are stacked in a factory and are transported by a conveyor or by a vehicle for transportation by a vehicle. The pedestal is used for. However, in the case of this wooden pedestal, corrosion of the material is unavoidable and durability is poor, and since nails are used to fix the base plate and legs, transportation and transportation on the way by conveyor etc. Due to repeated impacts such as vibrations, the nail may come off or float up, resulting in troubles such as damage to the steel sheet surface of the product. In addition, wood also has a problem in surface smoothness and is often damaged by grain, knots, tars, wood chips, and the like. In addition, wood has a directional strength, which causes bending and distortion, resulting in misalignment of binding and misalignment of ropes during transportation. In particular, it is necessary to protect the bottom corners with angles to prevent damage. However, there is also a drawback that the number of manufacturing steps increases.

Under the same conditions, both the pedestal having the structure shown in FIG. 1 and the conventional wooden pedestal are loaded with plated steel products.
As a result of conducting a usage test in the cycle of customer loading to product loading, the conventional wooden pedestal has a decrease in material strength after being used 2-3 times.
Corrosion, nail dropout, and other damage were observed, and the pedestal had a short life. On the other hand, the pedestal of the present invention having the above-mentioned structure does not change in appearance and performance even after 50 cycles. It was not seen, and it was clear that the usage cycle could be repeated. In addition, as shown in Table 1, the results of observing the damage ratio of the product after one use cycle and the cause thereof for 100 samples of each of the conventional wooden pedestal and the pedestal of the present invention are shown in Table 1. However, product damage due to various causes was found on the wooden pedestal.

As is clear from the above results, the FRP pedestal of the present invention has excellent durability and flatness, does not damage product-plated steel sheets, and has excellent mechanical strength. Therefore, the angle of the lower end of the leg, which is indispensable in the conventional wooden pedestal, is not always necessary to reduce the impact during the transportation of the rollers, and thus there is an advantage that the manufacturing process can be simplified.
