Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a detergent composition having good foamability, low irritant to both the skin and hair, containing an alkyl dimethylaminoacetic acid betaine-type amphoteric surfactant, a sparingly thickening anionic surfactant and a fatty acid diethanolamide. CONSTITUTION:This detergent composition contains a total of 7-50wt.% of (A) an alkyl dimethylaminoacetic acid betaine-type amphoteric surfactant of formula I (R<1> is a 12-16C alkyl) (e.g. myristyl dimethylaminoacetic acid betaine), (B) a sparingly thickening anionic surfactant of e.g. formula II (R<2> is a 7-17C alkyl or an alkenyl; M<1> is an alkali metal, an alkanolamine, ammonium, etc.; (a) is 1 or 2) (e.g. N-lauroyl sarcosine sodium), and (C) a fatty acid diethanolamide of formula III (R<8> is a 7-17C alkyl or an alkenyl) (e.g. coconut fatty acid diethanolamide) at a weight ratios A/B of (10:90) to (95:5) and (A+B)/C of (95:5) to (60:40).

There is a method of using an inorganic thickener in order to solve such a defect, but when a large amount of this thickener is added, the low temperature stability is lowered. In addition, when a polymeric thickener is used, the transparency of the system is often impaired. Furthermore, in order to obtain the target viscosity, a method of using an anionic surfactant having a difficulty in thickening and a sulfate type anionic surfactant in combination has been tried, but in this case, irritation is increased, whichever method is used. Was not satisfactory either.

Means for Solving the Problems As a result of intensive studies to achieve the above object, the inventors of the present invention have used an anionic surfactant having a low viscosity and an amphoteric surfactant having a specific structure and a fatty acid diethanolamide in combination. By doing so, it was found that a predetermined effect can be obtained without impairing low temperature stability and low irritation, and the present invention has been completed based on such findings.
