Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a battery charging system for a mobile communication equipment in which further miniaturization than that of conventional configurations is attained and the number of components is reduced resulting in reducing the cost. CONSTITUTION:An output of a reception display section 2 is given to an earphone microphone charging terminal 11 and an input to a transmission section 7 is connected. Furthermore, a coil 13, a diode 14, and a control circuit 15 are connected to a microphone terminal section 1b. When an earphone connecting to an AC adaptor converting an AC voltage of AC 100V power supply into a DC is plugged into the earphone microphone charging terminal 11, a DC voltage is applied between a microphone terminal 11b of the earphone microphone charging terminal 11 and ground and fed to the control circuit 15 via the coil 13 and the diode 14. The control circuit 15 charges a battery 16 while preventing overcharging. Since an external power terminal is used in common for the earphone microphone terminal in this way, it is not required to provide an external power terminal to a printed circuit board and miniaturization and cost reduction are attained.

Generally, since this type of handy phone is premised on being carried, it is desirable that the handy phone be as small as possible so that it is convenient to carry. A rechargeable battery was used as the power source, and a charging external power source terminal was provided. In order to provide the charging external terminal, a space for arranging the external terminal is secured on the circuit board, which is a disadvantageous structure for a handy phone that requires miniaturization as much as possible. Further, the provision of the charging external terminal has been one of the factors limiting the cost reduction of the mold of the mobile phone body. An object of the present invention is to provide a battery charging method for a mobile communication device, which can be further downsized as compared with the conventional configuration, and can reduce the number of parts and cost.

FIG. 2A shows an embodiment of an earphone microphone device connected to the earphone microphone charging terminal.
(B) is a schematic diagram showing an example of a battery charge power supply part, respectively. When the earphone microphone plug 18 of the earphone microphone device 23 is inserted into the earphone microphone charging terminal 11, the voice can be heard by the earphone 20 and the voice can be sent to the other party by the microphone 19. Since the potential of the microphone terminal portion 11b is lower than the potential of the battery 16, all the current from the power source + B flows to the microphone side and is used to drive the microphone. The impedance of the coil 13 is set to be sufficiently higher than the impedance of the microphone amplifier 8 side to prevent the AC signal from being superposed on the battery.

As described above, according to the present invention, in the mobile communication device, an alternating current is applied to the transmitter input of the earphone microphone terminal for connecting the receiver output to the earphone and the microphone output to the transmitter input. An earphone microphone in which a charging terminal function is added to the earphone microphone terminal by connecting a circuit unit that blocks a signal and prevents backflow, and further connects a control circuit that charges the battery while preventing overcharging to the circuit unit. A charging terminal is provided, and in addition to the earphone microphone device having an earphone and a microphone, a battery charging power supply unit having an AC adapter connected to the earphone microphone plug is inserted into the earphone microphone charging terminal to enable battery charging. Therefore, since the external power supply terminal (battery charging terminal) is also used as the earphone microphone charging terminal, it is not necessary to provide an external power supply terminal in addition to the earphone microphone terminal, and the mobile communication device can be further miniaturized. Further, since the external power supply terminal is also used, the number of parts can be reduced, and the cost can be reduced.
