Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a light shielding container for photosensitive materials which is low in cost, has excellent light shieldability and strength and satisfies performance as a disposable material, such as combustible material by using a molding mixture composed of cellulose fibers and thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:A magazine is formed by using a corrugated fiberboard which is subjected to black solid printing on both surfaces by a gravure system as the material of a body 1 and using various kinds of materials as side plates 2. A photosensitive material 3 to be housed into this magazine is photographic paper for a computerized type setting system. The molding mixture composed of at least the cellulose fibers and the thermoplastic resin is used for at least a part of the members constituting the container for housing the photosensitive material in a light shielding state in such a manner. Various kinds of additives, for example, inorg. pigments, such as carbon black, org. pigments, light shieldable materials, such as light shieldable cellulose fibers, lubricants, etc., may be arbitrarily added to such mixture composed of the cellulose fibers and the thermoplastic resin. The purposes are attained as well by the cellulose fibers and the thermoplastic resin alone.

It is needless to say that these light-shielding containers for light-sensitive materials have light-shielding properties and strength, but from the viewpoint of disposable use, it is necessary to consider manufacturing costs and environmental problems at the time of disposal.

The magazine is made of various materials depending on the type, size, winding length, and application of the photosensitive material to be stored, but it can be generally classified into paper and plastic. Specifically, as the paper, corrugated board, paperboard or a laminated material of paper and a plastic film or metal foil is used.

FIG. 1 is a partially disassembled perspective view of a general magazine. The material of the magazine is usually divided into one in which both the body 1 and the side plate 2 are formed of paper, one in which both are formed of plastic, or one in which the body is formed of paper and the side plate is formed of plastic. .

It is almost impossible for the conventional magazines formed of these papers and / or plastics to satisfy all of the strength, low cost and waste incineration property imposed on the disposable magazine as described above.

For example, when the body and the side plate are formed of paper, the cost and the disposability are good, but the strength is weak, the size of the photosensitive material to be stored and the winding length are limited, and deformation occurs during transportation. However, it has a serious drawback that it is easily damaged. The one in which both are molded from plastic has good strength, but there are problems in terms of cost and disposal. Although the body is made of paper and the side plate is made of plastic, it has the intermediate characteristics of the above two examples, but at the time of disposal, the body and side plate must be removed and the paper and plastic must be separated and discarded. There is a drawback that it takes a lot of effort to remove the.

However, from the standpoint of maintaining the commercial value as a light-sensitive material, the mainstream is one in which plastic is used for the side plates in order to give the magazine a certain level of strength. The side plates of the magazine must be strong enough to rotatably support the core wound in a roll with the photosensitive material stored in the magazine, and must be processed to have a roll loosening prevention function. For some reason, plastics have come to be generally used because they have relatively complicated irregularities in the structure of the side plate and require dimensional stability and moldability.

However, plastic itself does not have a light-shielding property, and it is necessary to mix a light-shielding substance such as carbon black in order to have a light-shielding property, and the shrinkage rate after the molding process is large, and the molding process is difficult. Work efficiency and lack of dimensional stability of large-sized molded products and deformation due to heat absorption, resulting in defective assembly of magazines, poor light-shielding properties, defective drawing of photosensitive materials, etc. And, since plastic is handled as an incombustible material, it must be separated from the paper member and discarded. If mixed with combustible material and incinerated, the burning calorie of plastic is considerably higher than that of paper, wood, etc. Further, since plastic has a property of melting down (melting and dropping) at the time of combustion, it has a drawback of damaging a combustion furnace.

The method for producing a mixed molded product composed of a cellulosic fiber and a thermoplastic resin is not particularly limited,
A known method can be used. For example, pulp or waste paper is crushed with a shearing machine, then further disentangled into finer fibers with a defibration machine, and the cellulosic fibers and thermoplastic resin thus obtained are thoroughly mixed at a temperature equal to or higher than the softening point of the thermoplastic resin. Then, injection molding is performed into a desired molded product.

A mixed molded product composed of a cellulosic fiber and a thermoplastic resin is far superior in light-shielding property to plastic, and when used as a side plate of a magazine, the side plate molded of a conventional plastic is made of carbon black or the like. A light-shielding substance must be mixed, but if the mixture has a thickness of the side plate of the magazine (1 mm or more), sufficient light-shielding property can be obtained without mixing the light-shielding substance.
Even when the thickness of the member formed of the mixture is small, the amount of the light-shielding substance added can be significantly smaller than that when plastic is used.

Compared with plastics, the mixed moldings of cellulosic fibers and thermoplastic resins have a significantly lower shrinkage ratio after injection molding, so that the efficiency during molding can be improved (cooling time shortened), Since the stability is good and the deformation is small, defective assembly of the magazine, defective light-shielding due to distortion, and defective drawing of the photosensitive material can be greatly improved. There is also an advantage that the design of the mold of the molded product is easy.

Further, since the mixed molded product composed of the cellulosic fibers and the thermoplastic resin contains the fibrous material, it has a good entanglement with the adhesive, the adhesiveness is improved as compared with the plastic, and the molded product with other members such as the body of paper. Joining becomes easy, and the strength of the joining portion can be increased.

In terms of environmental friendliness, the mixed molded product composed of cellulosic fibers and thermoplastic resin has a significantly lower calorific value than plastic and is close to paper or wood, and therefore can be handled as a combustible material. Therefore, conventionally, dismantling the paper body of the magazine and the plastic side plate, which were firmly joined together, required a great deal of labor and cost, but this is no longer necessary.

In the present invention, the mixed molded product composed of the cellulosic fiber and the thermoplastic resin may be used as a part of the light-shielding container for the light-sensitive material or may be used as a whole.
In particular, it is preferable to use it for a member that requires a certain level of strength and hardness due to the structure of the light-shielding container, and by using a plastic material instead of a plastic material, the effect can be maximized. .

In the case of a magazine, for example, the side plate is generally required to have strength, hardness, dimensional stability, light-shielding property and moldability as described above. Therefore, a mixed molded product of cellulosic fiber and thermoplastic resin is used for the side plate. By using paperboard or cardboard for the body, it is possible to satisfy the suitability as a disposable magazine. Of course, there is no problem even if a mixed molded product composed of a cellulosic fiber and a thermoplastic resin is used for the body.
